A great Find
By victortabia55 on 9/6/2012
Found this great suit custom store. Very impressed. large selection of fabrics, I got a super 130s blue navy suit. What was great was the fit-really good fit. Also the sales staff is quite professional. Will for sure return for more.
This is a great store

I cannot believe that stores like this still exist. I found Alan David online and was hesitant at first. I needed a few suits for work so I ordered a blue and a gray. They suits came in and they fit me like a glove, almost no adjustments. I am short and fat and I always wore 3 button suits but they explained to me that 3 button accentuate the stomach and that I should stick with 2 button. Now the top button hits me right at the fullest part of my gut and really slims me out. Also they made the length of my jacket perfect so I look taller, I really do. The longer the jacket the shorter I had looked, now I look great. Who knew-highly recommend.
Happy start to my marriage

My dad shopped at Alan David and when it was time for my wedding I had myself and 7 groomsmen. As a present I was going to purchase all 7 of them tuxedos. I made the rounds, checked out Men's Warehouse and Joseph banks but I really did not get the good feel that they would be able to nail the fit. My dad suggested (hinted and hinted) and I finally agreed. Right away when I walked in I could tell this was going to be an entirely different experience. All the salespeople were well dressed and well versed with all the topics I had researched. I had my initial consultation with the owner Alan, who walked me through the construction of the garment from A to Z. I had no idea there were so many important measurements like button stance, lapel width, front jacket length, finished bicep and a dizzying amount of others. I left to think it over but the one thing that pushed me over is he seemed to really care and practically begged me that no matter where I ended up to not trust it to just anybody. While he stopped short of recommending anybody else, he earned my trust. A few weeks later, after visiting a number of other tailors, I returned. Alan arranged to open on Sunday and had wine and crackers and other refreshments for my groomsmen. It took about 45 minutes to measure each guy. There were a crazy amount of measurements. About 4 weeks later the tuxedos came in and let me tell you-SPOT ON!!! Really great. yes there were some minimal alterations but overall it was an A+

Amazing quality AND amazing service!!

I had a suit and shirt made here. The sincere concern that I look as best as I can was so refreshing.their attention to detail and personal customer service was amazing. I have been to other stores where they make custom suits and the like, and even though their quality happened to have been of much lesser quality they make u eel like they're doing YOU a favor.Alan and his crew r so sincere in making sure you look your best. They will make sure u find the material that you like that feels good on YOU the style that you like... they have so many different styles and fabrics to choose from it's amazing I happen to be a short portly sized fella and I really really thought I wouldn't be able to find something that will make me look good and sharp. But Alan found me an amazing suit! I walked out feeling like a million dollar's! I really would strongly recommend if you're in the market for a suit shirt tie dress pants or a coat that you visit these guys. Alan truly cares about all his customers. His knowledge and expertise and professionalism and dedication to making sure I looked and felt my best was so refreshing.I really felt like I was in good hands. I got so many compliments already! It was definitely worth my trip from New Jersey. The service is amazing even after you buy the suit...it could be months down the line they still treat u with the same respect courtesy and professionalism. I can't wait to go back!
Discover Alan David

I just picked up the most stunning overcoat ever. It took Alan & his factory head tailors 8 weeks to create perfection. I wish I can post a picture (not tech savvy) but try and envision. Chesterfied double breasted overcoat with a round top collar covered with fur so when I turn the collar up the fur hits the back of my neck/head. Cuffs on the sleeves like they wore it in the 1950's. Mid thigh length, great for driving and sitting on the train. Very fitted yet enough room to move around comfortably. Half belted back with buttons holding the belt in place. Epaulets on shoulders like the old time military jackets. Grey fur as the inside lining. This took so much patience and so much handwork. We started with 13 drawings, each one identifying a style or feature I wanted the coat to have. It took 7 fittings but each time we made great progress until today, when I picked it up. This coat is the true meaning of hand custom, it cannot ever be duplicated and I hope to own it for many years. This is the second such coat I made with Alan (previous one was a shearling made back in 2011). Every few years I do something unique but this coat is just over the top, just in time for the cold. If you want a real hand made bespoke suit maker then follow my lead. If they can make this coat they can make anything.
These suits are top notch, and the service impeccable.

My wife and I had a black tie wedding, with 300+ guests. Her gown was beautiful and we decided a mass produced suit wouldn't be appropriate for our big day. We heard of http://www.alandavid.com/men/custom-suits/ through a friend who had an Alan David tux for his best friend's wedding. When we saw how perfectly his tux fit, we knew we had to schedule an appointment. The whole process, from scheduling an appointment, to my final fitting, we were treated with so much attention. It was an experience more grooms should experience. Brides always get all the attention for our dress, but it more people could have the experience of a bespoke suit, I am sure those mass manufacturers would go out of business.
