Albertine is one of those quiet gems of a store that has an exciting, unique collection and perfect staff. The jewelry is the best feature of Albertine and will have you coming back just to drool over it. The exquisitely edited collection is priced from $100 to a steep $1,000+. The womenswear boasts up-and-coming designers and custom-made pieces that are feminine and vintage-inspired ranging from $150-600+. Flowy fabrics in all colors can be found in floor-length silk gowns and highly-structured bomber jackets. The cozy store normally only has [more...] Read the expanded review at The Boutique of the Week: http://www.theboutiqueoftheweek.com/boutiques/albertine.html

This store has a new attraction: bespoke clothing--they are heavily advertising that they tailor make clothing. Don't be fooled--the owner Kyung Lee is very distracted and doesn't have the time to be bothered for a true consultation. And when it comes time to problem solve-- she just can't. Possibly she is spread too thin but I was very disappointed with a dress she was supposed to rework for me, and had to take it to my dressmaker to fix who said, quite plainly, you were hoodwinked. I hope you aren't. What was most disappointing was the way Kyung handled the situation--she merely said, "Good luck to you," and never even bothered to say that she was sorry. On a positive note, she does have an interesting selection of clothing on the rack by OTHER designers who are young and up and coming. and while she may not pay customers attention, she does hire lovely shopgirls who almost make me forget my experience with her. Almost.

I had a similar experience to another reviewer -- I had gone there looking for a dress for an event that was a few days away. The owner told me she could taylor anything to fit AND would pull some dresses that were not on the racks to try on the next day. I gave my info to a very friendly girl who was working there. The next day came and went and I never heard from the owner. Friendly staff, great selection of clothing, but don't trust the owner. She definitely spreads herself thin and offers services she doesn't deliver on.

I've never shopped in the clothing store, so I can only speak for Albertine's General, her jewelry cannot be matched - from the presentation to the eclectic array of vintage, antique, antique-inspired and upcycled pieces. Bought a lovely gold and tourmaline ring, and Kyung adjusted the size, no charge, and even gave me her personal cell number. You'll never know what you'll find there: an antique festooned garnet necklace, modern reproductions of traditional REGARD rings, or new/vintage pieces that incorporate watch fobs, magnifying glasses, and goldfill brooches. All is interspersed with her private collection of antique Korean hairpins (binyeo) and jewelry. A great fusion of old and new and a good place to find a little something-something that you'll never find elsewhere.
