After far too many cookie-cutter shopping experiences, I went to Angelo Lambrou and found a fabulous wedding dress that was perfectly customized for me. Angelo and Laura were friendly, fun, and the whole experience was a delight. The price was reasonable, too. If you're looking for a unique, beautiful, and affordable wedding dress, I completely recommend Angelo Lambrou!

After visiting a few stores and getting a bit overwhelmed over so many choices, my friend told me about Angelo. Since I trust her taste in fashion, I went to check out right away. On my first visit, I found my dress! I loved his detailed touch on layers and cut. The fabric was also nice. I liked how I looked in his dress very much. Angelo and Lauras people skill was also superb. They are so down to earth and I was able to pick my dress with normal state of mind. They also gave me helpful tips on underwear and shoes (No typical wedding shoes! so I chose a pair of purple high heels with a big square crystal on toes, which everyone loved). One of things I still appreciate to this date was Angelos advice. I was quite nervous about my wedding and he told me to think of it as a big party with my beloved friends & family, and just relax and enjoy. Its a simple advice, but his happy and positive energy added some magic to his word. Thanks for the lovely dress with fabulous experience, Angelo and Laura!

Purchasing my dress from Angelo Lambrou was easily the best part of my wedding planning experience. As soon as I arrived at the boutique, I knew I would buy my dress there. The dresses were beautiful and clean, the boutique is comfortable and welcoming, and the customer service is phenomenal. Both Angelo and his assistant, Laura, are an absolute delight to work with. I miss them (and their wine after a long week of work) now that I no longer have fittings! Angelo is a genius at making the dress look good on your body, and my favorite thing about Laura is her honesty -- she gave me straightforward and right-on opinions that I knew I could trust. I received many compliments on the dress. Guests commented that they had never seen such a perfect dress for a beach/destination wedding because it was flowy and natural-looking, yet not too casual. It was the perfect balance of classic, modern, and sexy. I felt fantastic on my wedding day. I hope to dye the dress and keep it as a formal gown, because I can't imagine not being able to wear the most beautiful dress I own again!

Angelo Lambrou is the place to go if you want both a dress and an experience. The shop is an oasis with beautiful, funky, and chic dresses that inspire and excite. Sip a glass of wine, look through the soft, luscious silks on the rack, talk to Angelo about your dream, and see a vision take shape. I had my dress made and loved the process of sketching and discussing, seeing the dress evolve through several fittings, and then watching it transform at the end with tiny, but dazzling finishing touches. I love my dress and felt so great knowing it was one-of-a-kind.

Ive never written a review for anyone, ever, I swear. But coming back from my wedding in Argentina, one of the first things I wanted to do was hug Angelo and Laura. I tried on count em 37 dresses until I stepped in their quaint, intimate, downtown shop. I knew this place was different. And when they offered me a glass of cold pinot grigio (the good stuff) I was already halfway sold. The dresses were more beautiful than what I saw on their website- pure silk and fine detail doesnt translate on a webpage, whether it has Flash or not. I was getting married in HOT Buenos Aires. I wanted something eccentric, vintage, comfortable, but sexy oh and of course ...different. Angelo Lambrou delivered more: personal 1 on 1 appointments, unlimited alterations, his fine eye on every detail with fun suggestions, and the support of his assistant Laura that never let more than 12 hours go by without responding to an email/call. Angelo Lambrou is what wedding dress shopping should be. Personal, never rushed, focused on the celebration of life and love, and so accommodating. I highly recommend.

I stumbled across Angelo Lambrou's store hidden away in the East Village completely by accident. Walking passed, I glimpsed something magical from the corner of my eye, and the horrors that I had endured in searching for a wedding dress in NYC were finally over. It's not your typical bridal store with fake smiles and over-anxious sales people. Instead, two warm smiling faces (Angelo and Laura) greet you with hugs and a glass of wine. They took the time to get to know me, and created a dress that defined me in every way! I looked forward to every visit, and felt like I was in my living room at home, working with friends. Angelo's dresses are incredible - and if you don't find "your" dress on first look, don't fret, because they will work with you until they have designed one to meet your every wish. My wedding day was magical - the dress created the tone for the entire wedding, and was loved by all. I can't wait to find my next occasion when I will "need" to visit Angelo and Laura again!! I would never dream of going anywhere else!

the bridal industry is truly that -- an industry. the price tag on most the dresses would make you think that you were getting a dress made to your body, that the designer him/herself was going to be at your fittings, making adjustments to the design to meet your needs/aesthetic, or hand sewing your dress in their atelier. of course, that couldn't be further from reality. but at angelo lambrou, that's exactly what you're getting and at a price that is truly fair.i loved all my appointments there, but did not realize the dress's true value till i wore it on my wedding day, and felt and saw how it moved -- very sensually. that's true art, craft, and architecture, much more than piling on frills and beads etc. angelo and laura are lovely people, they will not lead you astray simply to make a buck. also, i had to travel with my dress to my wedding in marrakesh, with a weekend layover in spain. amazingly, did not have to steam it, wore it straight out of the bag. don't waste your time anywhere else!

I'd visited one too many stuffy, snobby bridal shops when I had the good fortune to stumble on Angelo Lambrou's shop in the East Village. Instead of the disapproving once-over I was met with at other shops, Laura and Angelo greeted me with a big smile and a glass of wine. The materials are divine and the dresses flattering - and what a pleasure to spend time in the shop! After I'd tried on all of the samples, Angelo worked with me to use the elements I'd liked from a few different dressed to create a dress that was unique and very much "me". There were no cookie-cutter ideas of what a wedding dress "should" be and no pressure to go out of my comfort zone. And what a beautiful final product! Angelo and Laura made the wedding dress process fun, creative and relaxing. It was a real pleasure, from beginning to end.

I LOVE Angelo and Laura. I got married in August 2008 in Central Park and Angelo made me The Perfect dress for an outdoor wedding and reception. (FYI: If you're looking for a formal gown they can definitely work with you as they have many style options from simple to uniquely extravagant). Plus their keen eyes helped with assesing fit and my personal style. My dress is beautiful, light, airy, unique, sensual and sexy. I was told I looked stunning and regal, like a queen of the garden. Surprisingly enough it was my husband who found their website after I was frustrated from looking at pricey and typical looking gowns with prices of $3K and upward. He said, "You really should go to this store, I looked at some of their stuff on their site and it looks like you." Finding them and my dress was like finding a piece of myself. If you'd like, I invite you to look at my wedding photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/crisphotogram/sets/72157601963076588/show/ *sigh* I'm looking forward to dyeing it so that i can wear it again, especially on our wedding aniversary...

I recently got married and wore a dress from Angelo Lambrou. I could not have been any happier with my experience. Walking into Angelo's shop was like a breath of fresh air. It is low key, calm, all around wonderful. Angelo and his assistant Laura are warm, fun, kind people who felt like friends after just a few minutes. They quickly figured out what I would look good and feel comfortable in. The dress was elegant, simple and extremely comfortable. I wish I could wear it every day!! The only reason to get married again would be to have Angelo make me another dress. I can't say enough about these wonderful people and the extremely unique yet totally classic and beautiful clothes.
