@mmlb1022 : Is that stated anywhere in their Mission Statement that you can only expect good service "with confidence and (perhaps) some designer clothing on, you'll get the attention you deserve" Did you just say that..isn't it discrimination

Expect low class service from Jersey shore crowd at Barneys

Yes, I would go back!

The people who work in sales or customer service at Barney's are a fry cry from sophistication or aesthetic as you would expect...they look, act and dress like they came straight from the jersey shore... Yes...I would go back because like I said I do like the store and merchandise minus the sales associates ..maybe they can automate the whole process have self checkout monitors, search engines and we don't have to deal with them at all....

One of its kind

Yes, I would go back!

In a city strewn with luxury departmental stores and high-end fashion boutiques, Barney's is simply outstanding -- it offers a wider range of choices at acceptable prices for its patrons and a service that is highly laudable. Seasonal bargains are just exceptional.

Awful Service - Terrible Quality

No, I would not go back!

I purchased a pair of slacks from Coop, and after three wears the inside seam disintegrated. I called and spoke with someone who asked that I drop them off. I messengered them over and after a month of phone tag was told they wouldn't stand behind the pants and were not going to take them back. Will never go there again, and on shopping trips I always steer the group from Barneys.

Barney's defines the current culture of Manhattan. It may not be your choice, but it is a litmus test of what is "in" and what is "out." the price of being in style is high, except during the seasonal sales when style can be bought with a 25% discount.

It is true, Barney's isn't for everyone. If you go in with an air of sophistication and a tinsy bit of polish, you will be treated accordingly. If not, perhaps you should try Macy's.

Barneys used to be at 7th Avenue and 17th Street.Bustling with activity and helpful salespeople. I remember The vast selection of mens suits by some of the best "Hoidy-Toidy" designers,and at some of the best prices in town.Then,one day,sadly it closed,only to reappear on the Upper East Side,with an ill designed environment,a vast wasteland of a mens department,service almost non-exhistent, and a selection of womens clothing,that is non-cutting edge.At times, it touts its great Barney's Warehouse sale at its Chelsea warehouse.I do not suggest it for the faint at heart.Better to go the a real zoo. No wonder its been struggling.

How can anyone hate Barneys? Sure, the communists and hippies might, but for the rest of us, Barneys is the shrine to high fashion that it's always been. With 8 floors of clothes each for men and women, Barneys offers a wide range of designers from Adam Jones to Zegna Sport. But, as a warning, these clothes don't come cheap, even on the much less expensive Co-Op floors. Many have whined about the snobbish service, but, with confidence and (perhaps) some designer clothing on, you'll get the attention you deserve. Visit the Chelsea Passage for gifts and other sundries.
