I don't usually write negative reviews, but Bicycle Renaissance should be avoided at all costs. I purchased my $1500 bike there and ever since, I have received unbelievable bad service each and every time I've returned. Rude comments made by elitist staff, completely indifferent management, long wait times and absurdly high prices... there is absolutely no reason to shop here when there are so many other choices in the neighborhood... my recommendation would to go to Metro Bicycles on 96th St and Bway... down to earth staff, very friendly and helpful!!

Besides the horribly rude staff, they said they'd charge $50 for a tune up over the phone, but once I was in the shop, they charged me $85. They said it would be ready Monday. On Wednesday, I finally demanded my bike back because they hadn't started working on it. They talked trash about me in ear shot, and when they gave me the bike back, the wires had been ripped out of my bicycle computer, and the face of the computer had been torn off. All the manager would say was, "That could have been our fault, but it wasn't, and I'm not doing anything about it." There are other bike shops in the city. Please do yourself a favor and never use this awful, mean place.

The Manager was exceptionally rude. The Story: Prior to going to the store to by a computer($120) for my bicycle, I called to see if they would install it without charge--they stated they would on the phone. Thus I made the decision to purchase the item from them. When we got to the store the story changed, which is OK as the guy on the phone did not know the policy. However, the Manager, stated: Although his employee made an error it was my problem and that I had an attitude, for asking the fee to be waived as promised. My attitude is that a store should honor the commitments of their staff. I will Not Give Them My Business. Try Metro Cycles on 96th Street. Very Nice People.

Extrememly rude staff. Despite the fair selection and prices, I will never return. After being told I would have to spend two dollars for a presta adaptor in order to use their pump, after purchasing a *TIRE AND INNER TUBES* and then being spoken to like I am three years old when I objected, I am through with this place. For a good experience, check out: Metrobikes at B'way and 96th.
