Buyer Beware of Cakes N' Shapes
By LotjeBas on 12/21/2016
The owner of Cakes N' Shapes uses the same boxed mixes you can buy for .99 cents at the corner store. Duncan Hines! Inside a corner of her small cake shop, there were literally hundreds of empty crushed cake mix boxes wrapped in twine and ready for recycling. Also a few big boxes filled with new, unopened vanilla and chocolate Duncan Hines cake mixes, and a few dish towels draped over to conceal these facts. I think consumers deserve to know what they are eating, before agreeing to spend $100-$200-$300 or more on one of these boxed chemical cake mixes. Amazing cake, beware of delivery!!

We had the chocolate on chocolate cake with an image on top. The cake was delectable and the image came out perfectly from a JPG. You could smell the chocolate when you got near it and I had to threaten people away from it until it was time to cut it! That said, my event was a 1pm so they gave me a delivery window of 1130-1230pm. After 2 frantic calls to the shop where I spoke to Edie who eventually just said there was nothing she could do, it was out of her hands the delivery guy showed up at 1250pm and just dumped the cake. Didn't open it for us to see that it actually came out, that we were happy with it, nothing. My advice is to order the cake but get it delivered early.
