I went into the store on a weekend and took a look around. I was VERY surprised to see that how much of a mark up was on some of the pieces. I never saw RAW, no even cut diamonds be so expensive. And when I asked the girl that was helping me why the price was so high, she didn't really have a good answer or even a decent answer (which would defiantly make me reluctant to purchase such high ticket items). Most educated consumers would take their business elsewhere, especially in this economy. You get more bang for your buck at other places and more knowledgeable employees. Maybe the rent is really high? I don't know. I also find it hard that almost everyone on these reviews have had such a 'amazing experiences'. It seems they all 'simply loved everything' and they all were 'so intimidated to ring the door bell.' Seems like all the posts were written by same authors. I just didn't get a good feeling from this place, which is a shame because it is in such a wonderful location.

I recently moved to the west village after living in soho for 5years. I found myself continually walking by this boutique day after day; sometimes on purpose just to look at their beautiful window displays! The store looked beautiful, but i was a little intimidated to go in for some reason. One day i rang the bell and decided i needed to see more than just the jewelry in the window. I was so surprised when i got inside, the staff was sooo warm and friendly. I had my 2 dogs with me, and they were all so excited to play with the puppies. most stores are stuffy and weird about having dogs inside. Here they seemed as pleased to have the dogs there as they did me. The jewelry is amazing! and soo unique! i fell in love with everything in there! I became fixated on the diamond initial pendants that are unlike any i've ever seen. But they didn't have a "K" which was the letter i wanted. The designer, herself, came out and told me she would love to make a "K" and if i had any input or requests she's be happy to incorporate them into the pendant! WHAT?!!! that is completely unheard of! a designer who is willing to listen to someone elses ideas! From there i was totally hooked!!! she developed a gorgeous sketch for a diamond "K" pendant. A few weeks later my K arrived and it is gorgeous!!! I will absolutely go back to Catherine Angiel for any jewelry needs and requests that i have. Such a wonderful experience and an even better find!! LOVE THIS PLACE!

I purchased my engagement ring, and bands from Catherine Angiel, several years ago, and my wife had our first baby last week! I was informed by my buddy, I must buy my lovely wife a push gift, and it better be good:O I went to Catherine Angiel and purchased a beautiful Rose Cut Diamond Necklace. My wife loved it so much she said she would have ten more babies! Catherine Angiel really has a great variety of jewelry and designs that are killer! My wife, and baby girl Lea, are doing great! The necklace made the perfect push gift!

I just got engaged over Thanksgiving dinner! My boyfriend got on his knee, (while I'm stuffing myself with way too much turkey) and he popped the question:O I was shocked, and thrilled, and jumped for joy (with turkey leg in hand) and said YES YES, Of course I will marry you!! Then my next thought was, no matter what ring he gives me I promise not to be critical, as I am a bit picky:( and there came the black box I hoped for, a BEAUTIFUL Catherine Angiel Design especially for me!!! OMG!!! Not only do I have the best guy in the world, I have the most amazing ring to boot. Thank you my darling Johnny, and thank you Catherine Angiel for creating the perfect ring for my very special relationship. We will be in for our wedding bands for sure, they are absolutely amazing!!

I live downtown in the West Village and have walked past Catherine Angiel's boutique basically everyday going home from the subway. One Saturday I stopped in, finally, just to take a peek. I was a little intimidated by having to ring a door bell to get inside but once I was in the music was rocking and the staff was so happy and friendly, I felt right at home :) The black diamonds really blew me away. I'd never seen such beautiful creations. Though she designs many rock n' roll and Gothic inspired creations a lot of Catherine's work is delicate and was perfect for me. From the ambiance and staff to the gorgeous designs and having the opportunity to meet Catherine herself I would rate my visit an 11 out of 10. Truly an amazing experience stopping there. I haven't made my purchase yet but I guarantee I will be walking in there next week with my pay check to buy that pink gold necklace I had my eye on :) Thank you to Catherine Angiel and her wonderful staff. I've found my favorite jewelry designer!

I went with fiance to look at a ring that we saw in the back of NY Mag. Loved the look of it. Very unique! The ring that was advertised was out at a photo shoot or something so we couldn't take a look at it. I wasn't too impressed with the selection but the good news was that they were willing to 'remake' anything I wanted. All I had to do was bring in the picture of the rings and the will remake it for MUCH cheaper. The staff was absolutely willing to work with my budget and negotiate prices on the setting and diamonds. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait the 6-8 weeks it was going to take to remake the piece, so I had to go somewhere else. Great and incredibly accommodating staff!

I've been engagement ring shopping (wink - wink) and have been TRYING to get hints to my boyfriend! I also have my great grandmother's wedding ring and I want to re-set her diamond, it's very special to me. So, my friend had suggested I check out Catherine Angiel's boutique downtown. I had seen online that it was very edgy and rock n' roll and I have more of a girly style so I was skeptical at first walking in. However, I walked in to none other than Catherine Angiel herself; very cool! I explained my style and what I wanted and she showed me the endless, beautiful and delicate selections that she had perfect for me; I could see why my friend referred me. The staff was extremely helpful and warm, they even took the time to email me pictures of each of the ring settings that I liked. Needless to say I had left the email open on my computer ("by accident") so my boyfriend could see :) Then a month ago he proposed to me with the most beautiful custom made design he had created with Catherine along with my great grandmother's beautiful heirloom diamond which touched me so much! I cannot believe it, she truly made my dreams come true with the perfect ring. I recommend Catherine Angiel to everybody!!! Many thanks to you and your staff again :)

If you are like me, it takes something spectacular to impress me. Catherine Angiel designs are TO DIE FOR. I wondered in on my way to dinner. From the outside, I thought it was closed...it is designed very dark, somewhat like a speak easy! When I entered I felt like I was in a nightclub! Unlike any jewelry store I ever went to, it was super cool, very relaxed and the designs were amazing. Before I found this treasure, I surrendered to a plain band, as nothing moved me. I not only found my wedding band, but so did my fiance who hated all jewelry! I will absolutely go back, and recommend that before you go ANYWHERE, you go there and see her collection.

I researched buying an engagement ring for months and knew zilch about diamonds. The more places I went, the more confusing it became. I spoke with two friends that recently got engaged and both suggested I go to Catherine Angiel. I assumed that buying a diamond from a designer would be more expensive, and I was wrong. The prices were competitive, the designs were extraordinary, and the experience was very pleasant. I worked with the designer and it was clear she cared about my decision, and explained each stone in language I understood. I wound up saving money on my stone choice, as I liked the G color stone as much as the F color she compared it to. They also have really cool wedding bands. My fiance loved her ring, and we both love this shop.

I am very into rock n' roll and funky style jewelry designs. I was wandering around the West Village area on my day off and literally just stumbled upon Catherine Angiel's shop. To my happy surprise I wanted everything! The tattoo jewelry and graffiti jewelry was completely my style. The designers work with black diamonds was really cool too. Being a first time shopper I just looked around not too sure about what to actually purchase because I loved so many things! The staff was incredibly friendly and super helpful making my happy find that much better. I ended up leaving with the 'Love' pendant necklace in white gold with white diamonds; SO beautiful! I wear it practically everyday and constantly get complimented on it. I'll definitely be back soon :)
