Amazing prices for the quality
By erikaa1952 on 9/1/2011
We just bought a sleigh platform bed from Charles Rogers and have been extremely impressed with the entire experience. The bed is beautifully designed and constructed (solid mahagony, high-quality joinery, carefully and fully stained and finished). We wanted a very specific combination that we couldn't find anywhere else - a high curved headboard and no footboard on a platform bed - they actually had 3 different models with those characteristics to choose from! Susan, the salesperson, was knowledgeable, supportive, and flexible. The price was comparable to places like Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel for far superior quality and service - and free shippping. We also bought a very comfortable, well-made new mattress (we needed one, and they offer a discount if you buy a mattress with the bed). They have four different levels of quality/finish for the mattresses, and we were pleased that Susan recommended the two least expensive as best for our needs. There was no price pressure or buying pressure at all. If we ever need another bed, we'll definitely go back to C P Rogers.
Great selection of beautiful beds

What I like about Charles P. Rogers is the great selection. They offer multiple styles in brass, iron, wood and leather so you can easily compare different styles and materials all in one place. While not every bed appealed to my taste, I did find that every bed seemed to be of the same high quality. The pricing is pretty reasonable considering the quality. I ended up purchasing an iron canopy bed (cairo) and two sets of their very reasonably prices 400 thread count sheets. The staff was friendly (by NY standards) and the bed arrived as promised. It looks fabulous in our room and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a bed.
A great bed for a good price

I ordered my bed from their website. The staff was easy to deal with and the shipping took about 10 business days (slowed by a mix-up with my phone number). When the bed reached me, I was impressed. First of all, I've never purchased anything that was so safely packaged. They had even run packing material between joints to prevent scratches in areas of the bed that no one would have seen anyway. Speaking of areas no one would have seen, even the insides and bottoms and tucked away corners of the wood pieces were stained very neatly, unlike some furniture stores I visited where unseen pieces were unstained or had streaks or drip-marks. The bed I purchased has a leather headboard and the leather and stitch-work are excellent, easily comparable to a nice sofa. The memory-foam filling is comfortable; great for when I'm sitting up against the headboard to read or watch television.
Poor delivery - Horrible Customer service
By mh67 on 7/9/2015
Bought a top of the line mattress. Delivery men were over an hour late (past their 4 hour "window"). Delivery men damaged our walls and stairs getting mattress in (Ethan Allen had no trouble delivering same size bed). End experience was spending $$$ and then buying an additional trip to the hardware store and several hours of fixing their mistake. We complained and customer service's opening tack was along the lines of "you permitted our delivery guys to damage your walls." No "we're sorry you were inconvenienced how can we make it better..." Eventually they made an insulting offer of free sheets. What a joke. A company charging such premium prices needs to maintain premium customer service. They are going to get skewered by internet startups.
