Elle magazine (Jan. 2012) called Coach's products "taste for the masses," and they couldn't be more accurate. Every Midwesterner who wants to flaunt labels or pretend to wealth flocks to the Coach store at the mall--and their bags are everywhere. Coach is a safe bet if you're new to designer bags, but if you have time and a little imagination, you can get a much better bag elsewhere. I realize most Coach customers cannot afford to buy from the big designer houses, but there are some pretty unique, fun designers with a similar price point: Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Furla, DKNY, and even Marc Jacobs. If you're looking for safe and recognizable, Coach is the way to go...but if you're looking to express your personality, keep going.

Sure, the young-professional-with-Coach-briefcase is played out big time, but Coach has revamped its image and products over the past couple years, introducing brighter colors and non-leather accessories. Quality is very good. I really like this shop because it's a step above what you typically find in this (my) neighborhood, and it's perfect for gift-giving purchases when you really don't feel like making much effort (c'mon, fess!) Who's gonna argue with a nifty Coach card holder or bucket hat?
