I haven't bought stationery for a long time. The last time was when I bought some informals from Tiffany's who apparently no longer sell such items -- so, I figure the lapse has been some 25 years or thereabouts. I needed some cards and saw an article in either the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times touting this vendor so I ordered some heavy (2 or three ply, I forgot) correspondence cards and envelopes. There was an option to have the envelopes lined, but I decided to avoid the expense and refrained from ordering same. Imagine my chagrin when I get the shipment: the envelopes are one ply and so flimsy that you can see the ink through them, so I had to send the envelopes back to get them lined. Since the price was significantly higher than Crane & Co., I suggest this is not a good value. What a disappointment! I guess I should have asked rag content, but I am afraid to do so since I am sure I shall be disappointed again. Things definitely do not stay the same.
