Wow, this store is a hidden jewel. No other store has the selection and value at the Loft. I wanted something beautiful and different and I found so many dresses I loved here, the hardest decision was deciding which one. The staff is super knowledgable and friendly. This was unlike any other bridal shopping experience. Run do not walk to this hidden gem in Manhattan.

Designer Loft just gets it. They know what it's like to go to other stores and have people sneer at your budget, or ignore you altogether. What do they do instead? They give you kind, knowledgeable, individualized attention. They treat you and your dress (and any of your entourage) with respect, fun, and understanding. If I were to get married again, I would totally get my dress from Designer Loft.

Despite the positive reviews, we had horrible experiences. The red haired saleswoman with the glasses pretty much ignored us the first time and was just nasty the second time. The wonderful dresses kept us coming back - just make sure you have a thick skin for abuse. It think it depends on the day you go there. It seems fine on Mondays.

This place does have a great selection of wedding dresses in all price ranges. I got my dress there in the winter. And The staff was very helpful and friendly. I went for 4 fittings, the last one being 2 days before my wedding. It was still too big on me at the last fitting, so they had to do the alterations and have it be ready the day before my wedding which made me nervous. When I went to pick it up, something that I had asked to be fixed had not been, so the seamstress had to fix it while I stood there waiting. When I put it on the day of my wedding, it was still too big, the bra that they had sewn into the dress was showing in the back, and the there were loose threads hanging all over the dress. I could not believe how sloppy the job was. And it cost $350 for the alterations. It put me in a bad mood right before I got married. I was willing to recommend this place to people looking for a dress, but after the debacle with the alterations, I don't think I would.

Thanks Designer Loft team for helping me to acheive my dream wedding! This was the least stressful part of my bridal experience. From start to finish,I felt guided and not pressured. My gown was amazing and unique and just a joy to wear. I had envisioned a more traditional wedding gown but ended up with a gown that was so much fun to wear. Can't recommend this place enough!!

This was such a wonderful experience I am seriously considering a career change. It was so much fun! Their gowns are gorgeous and the selection very different. I was pampered and advised by their really knowledgeable and caring staff. I ended up selecting a gorgeous vintage inspired gown from Italy. They found a beautiful matching sash the exact color of my mother's vintage lace veil as well as a hair and makeup person for my portraits and wedding day. The look we created was perfect and I am so grateful for all their attention to detail.

After arriving somewhat late to the world of bridal shopping, what a releif to find Designer Loft. I had an extremely knowledgeable and helpful salesperson. Who really listened to me and did not try to sell me the first dress that looked good on me. Their selection is amazing. I finally narrowed it down to the "one" and purchased two weeks later. I so appreciated the lack of sales pressure and the patience of the staff, what a change from my previous shopping experiences. The veils, jewelry and art deco accessories are also fun! I highly recommend this place for those looking for unique, gorgeous gowns!

We recently went to Designer Loft after a few very high end salons, and noted some pros and cons. Pros- great dresses at very good prices, with much more originality than I thought $2000 could find. Also, the lady helping us was very laid back and didn't say much (some might say con). Cons- One fitting room taken and I got stuck in the sewing room. Literally felt like a whole in the wall where a sewing machine was placed. Plus, two windows, no curtains and I was expected to strip down to almost nothing, with no sample strapless bra. The woman just laughed and said no one was looking. Seriously?? There were several buildings across the street that could have a direct view! Anyway, I also wouldn't go there for samples because their floor is a mess and the samples I saw had bug guts on the hems. I didn't get my dress there and while I saw a few great ones, I have to say that I was a little concerned to think of how the process would go after I bought. Would I end up with bug guts on my dress???

I had high hopes for this place, knowing some of the designers that they carry. Well, the people working there were NOT helpful at all, and all but one of them practically ignored me, and anything I said to them. The samples are all shoved into small closets and racks, and most were filthy dirty and wrinkled. I guess I'd say consider going if you don't care about wonderful service. They did have some pretty gowns.....

I found an unbeleivable selection of interesting and unique vintage gowns! They also have the headpeices and veils to match! This was the best bridal shopping experience yet. I found three dresses that are each gorgeous and am trying to decide the one. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great experience.
