Right in the epicenter of all that is cool Williamsburg, Earwax is a place that you can go to find out which band is about to break, but never get any trendy pretense. If anything, when looking for the new hot thing, they may try to convice you to get its original 60's inspiration in addition. Great for people looking for a little more than the music they heard in a restauant, but they still sell it for those who are. All around good for society.

It's intimate, it's friendly, it's New York, it's worldly. the people that work there care about your brain, your ears, and your annual gross income.

OK, you want 5 or 6 Henry Flynt records to choose from? or maybe some Italian electronica? or concert tickets to the latest obscurities? You'll find yourself at Earwax over and over again. There is no place like it in the universe. The staff are insanely knowledgeable and they sell new as well as used, imports and domestic. You won't be subliminally attacked by some clearcom playlist as you browse. And it's conveniently located for all billyburgers and those brave enough to take the L train and walk 4 blocks south on Bedford.

This is one of my fave record/cd stores. Whenever I visit New York, the first stop on the L train is one of my first stops... and on I head over to Earwax for musical inspiration: from psychedelic to space age pop to funk and so on. Great for collectors, laymen and anyone looking for audio inspiration. Another plus, the staff is friendly and helpful and doesn't intimidate...
