The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The quality of clothes are superb and unique. My daughter wore pajamas the the whole sesson and by the time they didn't fit anymore they still looked new!

The Owner and The Staff are just fine.....

As a consistent customer of The Green Onion I can totally understand how this boutique/store stays in business. Whoever wrote the review awful staff seems to have a personal issue with the owner and how she runs her business. The owner and her staff have gone out of their way to make the store cheerful, fun and positive. They offer a great mix of sizes along with the fact that they offer a unique array of clothing, toys, books and accessories. Other moms that I know would agree that the staff is knowledgeable, helpful and the most important fact is that they engage with our children. I see this store being around for a long time...

I can't understand how this place stays in business -- the staff and owner are rude beyond belief. Don't be fooled by the "New Owner" sign; nothing has changed. I don't care how cute the clothes in the window are; I will go out of my way to avoid this store.
I am defiently going back!!

I recently visited the Green Onion in Brooklyn and I must say I truly loved it. I was greeted from the door by the friendly staff. The decor in the store is adorable I even took pictures and sent a bbm to all my other friends who have children. I found a lot of unique clothes for my 6 month old (that I know I wont see any other babies with) I even found some items on sale; which I was excited about. The store had toys, clothes, mommy essentials, and most importantly pacifier holder which I was looking for everywhere!! I found that the staff were very helpful in assisting me to find what I was looking for. I totally recommend this store to anyone with children. It is def worth checking out. My husband even loved the things I bought! I found the prices to be afforable and the quality was excellent. I will be visiting the Green Onion very soon!! P.S. The store has been under new management for the last year. I def had a very pleasant shopping experience, they were very patient and I did not feel rushed!!

I absolutely loved the service at the Green Onion...I came in from Toronto and saw a beautiful pair of shoes for my niece for my wedding - they didn't have the size I wanted - they took my number down and called the factory to find out - they called me and sent them over to me - The owner was so pleasant and so was the other lady that worked there - i cant recall her name right now - but I would go back there - actually I can't wait to visit brooklyn again just to go back to the store. They are just lovely.
The service IS better than better! It's great

So I went back today after having sworn off The Green Onion because their staff was so rude. This time there were 2 women there and they were BOTH so nice and helpful. The second I walked in they said hello and immediately took me to the sales rack and since I had a newborn in tow they spent time pulling things out for me, finding sizes, etc. These were NOT the women working there this past summer and I would definatley say they have SAVED this store--it's so nice to go somewhere that has nice things and nice people.
Is service any better?

I swore this past summer I would never go back even though they do have alot of nice things--there aren't that many children's clothing stores in the area and they do have a decent selection--BUT those women that work there are down right rude! (I'm remembering young-ish cash register people, didn't seem like owner). They chat and gossip to each other like there's noone in the store and when I dared to ask a question like 'do you have other sizes in the back' the one almost took my head off! It's like if you are going to be in the service industry why don't you be a little nicer?! Especially in kids store--you'd expect extra patience. I'm going to go back today so maybe it IS better.
Under new ownership--not mean anymore.

I don't know about the old owner or when management changed, but I haven't had bad experiences shopping there. True, there is a Ask For Help, Do Not Touch sign near the tiny (and very cute, soft, long-wearing, addictive) Cotton Caboodles basic, brightly colored t-shirts and pants. But it's just so they don't have to fold the stuff 8 million times a day. There are a couple of young girls behind the counter that may have dropped out of middle school. They seem to lack basic mastery of math and the english language. But they're nice enough. And the store has a wonderful selection of kids basics and fancier gift stuff. And some great toys/kids' books. I wish the stuff weren't so expensive but I don't think the store jacks up the prices. They just sell higher end stuff.
