Ordered a bracelet on the 8th of December that was "in stock" when I ordered it. Almost five days later I was told it was out of stock and that they were having it shipped from another store--but still no bracelet or tracking number and it is December 18th. Thanks for returning my email "Latonia". Not. I have plenty of money to spend somewhere else. That's for sure.

Bought a lead and enamel bracelet which springs shut in July. The spring broke after wearing only a couple of times. I am not in NY so emailed to seek guidance for returns but no answer despite waiting for a month. Poor service for a store which purports to offer "quality". Sadly could not recommend on any basis. Experience in store was positive; poor customer service is unacceptable for quality brands.

I spent 200$ online at Henri Bendel.com I waited voer a month for my order and never saw anything. I e-mailed them and they said everything was backordered and out of stock in the colors I wanted (they never told me about this until I contacted them) I asked for a refund and have never heard back from the 4 voice messages, and over 10 e-mails I sent. This company is a joke. For fun before you order call customer service (1800HBENDEL) and leave a message, and see for yourself that they never call anyone back.

Forget about the so-called On-Line shopping site. No great selections to offer. The so-called "Consierge Service" is a joke. It took days to get back to me to place my Xmas orders in November of 2007, and then got it totally WRONG. When I asked for immediate pick up to return the wrong item, they sent a guy from the shipping department, after I called the store and insisted. I'm still waiting for a credit on a pair if leather gloves. The in -store shopping experience is no better. The Lingerie Floor looks like a Bordello from hell. I miss the restaurant and remember fondly, shopping often at Shoe-Biz and in one of the best international clothing boutiques in town, which they had at the 57th Street store. IT USED TO BE A PLACE TO GO. ALAS, NOT ANY MORE!! I bought the last winter coat, in the what used to be, the Coat department, marked down from $1200+ to $700 in 2006. That was the only deal I ever made. They DO NOT HAVE A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON IN THE STORE to address customer complaints or special service.

Trendy? yes... but its complicated and sorry but it almost feels like a vintage thrift shop to me... and i could careless if i shop with joan rivers... in fact... that might be my cue to exit pronto.

Since this store is not exactly cheap, I went during the summer sale where certain clothes are discounted 80%. i bought $800 worth of clothes for merely $160. it's not exactly an everyday occurence where you can buy a catherine malandrino dress for $80. Sale aside, the service is nice... when you can find someone to help you. This store is always so busy that it can be hard to get a little help.

My first trip in Bendel's I couldn't get past the first floor!! It is just a really neat experience and you get to see some celebs shopping as well (Joan Rivers was there same as myself). This store is truely an experience, even if you cannot afford a thing, it is fun to look at the neat merchandise. They do have sales but I wouldn't suggest to go there for a bargain as it's not that type of store. The women in cosmetics can be a bit pushy but you just have to push right back and say Not Interested. Overall I would say a really fun shopping experience everyone should check out at least once while in the great city of NY!!

The reason for choosing a low rating for value is for the mere fact that there is no value at this shopping paradise. Don't think that you will walk in and spend peanuts. You will be spending a very big pretty penny!!!!! The atmosphere, The decor, The service all works well together. When you walk into Bendel, you truly feel like a star. My honest opinion is that every woman whether low, middle, or high income status bracket in her 20s and 30s should experience this enviroment at least once in her life. I understand that sometimes it is easier for some women than others to indulge in the materialistic pleasures of this society nonetheless all women should have there "Bendel Stash" secretly hidden. When you are ready to spend that well earned "Bendel Stash" try doing it on the day that the store is hosting a "private party" You can go in and have a drink or two making you feel you are spending your money effortlessly. I will continue to make this store one of my most treasured corners even if it breaks me.

I remember passing this store by for many years. It seemed as old-fashioned and stodgy as "The Other Store On 5th with the initials BG" Recently a friend asked me to accompany her into Bendel's to purchase a trendy watch. Trendy?in this store?I said.Well, what a surprise. Upon entering,we were greeted by friendly, smiling salespeople.Young,Hip, Happening clients wandered around the store, and older,Hip, Happening buyers were also present. My friend bought a pretty watch, at a pretty price. The selection of items ran the gamut . As New York.Com mentions:"Leave your beau behind and visit this Mecca of trendy cosmetics (Bobbi Brown, MAC, and Trish McEvoy ). Walk out with the adorable little Bendel shopping bags in which they lovingly package your acquisition--no matter how inexpensive the purchase. Makeup isn't the only thing they sell here, but you must have a strong heart and a robust bank account to venture to the upper levels where they sell clothes by designers to whom fashion magazines need only refer in the first-person. " Last, but not least, walk upstairs via the circular staircase, and admire the beauty of the store, and the incredible assortment of items to purchase.
