This is truly a disappointing place. High prices and rude employees. They have messed up my scripts many times. For the first few times I assumed it was my fault/insurance. Then I realized that it wasn't. The pharmacist told me she did not care if she lost my business when I pointed out I had a weeks worth of pills missing from my refill bottle. Duane Read is just around the corner. If you want to support small businesses go to Hill Top. If you want service you can trust don't even look at it.

I want to support independently owned pharmacies, but Hilltop is not only sloppy, but also exploitive. They add surcharges to prescriptions, claiming that the insurers miscalculate the reimbursement, even though no other pharmacy does this. And the unofficial receipt issued is not accepted by flexible-spending agencies.

I've been using the Hilltop Pharmacy for 11 years because I like to support my neighborhood's businesses. It's a busy place, with many everyday items. Pharmacist Bill is great. He knows his customers' first names and spends whatever time he needs to answer questions. My only complaint -- it needs clean-up and updating. There's too much junk that no one buys and it's all been sitting on the shelves for years collecting dust, and the carpets are dirty from all the foot traffic. It doesn't invite people to stay, peruse, and buy. It's got potential and momentum, but needs a face lift.
