The store, Karkula, is unique as its name. I found it a bit off the beaten track, but well worth the trip. The store features furniture and artifacts not found anywhere else - a designer's dream. John Erik Karkula was very helpful, knowledgeable and really knows what is trendy and "in", as well as functional. A great store!

Amazing, unique furniture, home accessories, jewelry and curious doodads (see December Box creations--very cool!). Local designers and artisans prominently featured. The proprietor, John Erik Karkula, and his staff are engaging and knowledgeable, very helpful--refreshingly attitude-free! Prices range from affordable to very expensive, but you are paying for high quality, often hand-made items that you won't find anywhere else. Mass market companies steal Karkula's ideas for their shabby knock-offs--I'm in this biz, so I know! Spend your hard earned money on the real deal--it's worth every penny.
