Rich neighborhood store.

They carry decent stuff, though it is slightly overpriced. They don't seem to have a variety of brushes or ink pens, most of the nice stuff requires you to buy a full set of things (normally I only use 1 size of brush or pen tip). Good if you don't feel like making that trip to the city. If you are like me, and go in on a day off straight out of bed- be prepared to be watched and treated like some kind of bum. I have frequented the place long enough for them to know me and I always spend a good deal of cash here. Sadly, they always look at me like I am going to shoplift or that I am not aware of the price of the expensive goods. I guess you can't expect more from any business located in Cobble Hill/Carol gardens.
I love this store

I had to comment after reading this other post. Every time I have gone to KC Art Supplies I have had a great experience. It may not be as cheap as a Dick Blick or an art megastore, but it's a neighborhood, local establishment - what do you expect? The difference is in the details. I have bought numerous gifts here (stationery, puzzles, etc) and they always take the time to wrap my item beautifully and go the extra mile. The salespeople have always been extremely friendly and helpful to me. I highly recommend this place for gifts, occasional art supplies, and decorative materials.
