kleinfeld experience

my experience at Kleinfeld was nothing like I had hoped. my consultant Renee Pinto was not supportive, I felt rushed and pressured into buying a dress I liked but wasn't the one. They put the veil on me and hair pieces I felt pressured and uncomfortable. my budget was 5-6 K and she made me feel that for that price I couldn't get what I was looking for. she kept making decisions for me and didnt lisen or show me enough dresses. I even asked her to show me a dress that looked like the one I initially liked but with a different tale (I even told her im open to trying different styles and showed her a picture of the tale I was looking for) and she came back with NOTHING. basicly said that I wasnt going to find what I wanted unless I was willing to pay more. She simply did not help she hurt my feelings and also said certain dresses wouldnt look nice on me because im short. Never going back to Kleinfeld and illl make sure to tell alll my friends not to waste their time going there.

Amazing store, pay no attention to the negative reviews

I am shocked by all of these negative reviews. I just went to Kleinfeld and bought my dream dress. My consultant was amazing. I actually wound up picking out the dress she selected based on what I told her I was looking for. Everyone who works there loves their job, you could tell. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff treated me and my guests so well. I wish the day didn't end because it was perfect

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS

The worst day of my life as the mother of the bride. was told my "price point' was way too low, they put my daughter in a dress double that price. Paraded her in front of the designer and the rest of the shop, pressured her 'are you saying yes' without ever a word about he price of that dress, made her cry because she loved the dress only to be told by me that i could not afford to pay that ridiculous amount. especially because she has the tiny type of body and features that looks good in any dress. imagine the disappointment, not to mention the EMBARASSMENT in front of her bridal party, the tears, and now my sad feelings for the whole mess. if you are not truely LOADED and by that i mean expect to pay a mimiumal of 5K do not waste your time. I wish i never went, and cannot take it back.

RUDE and what's the point of selection if you can't try the dresses?

I traveled to NYC with my mother & two friends to buy a dress. Kleinfeld made them sit/stand outside in traffic (you'd never guess that this was a high-end store, having to share chairs and take turns using mirrors), told me I could try just FOUR dresses (big inventory, but you'll never see it), and said that I had a strictly limited time before I'd have to leave. The saleslady actually insulted the pictures of dresses that I'd brought with me: "Inferior designers and knock-offs," she said, rattling off names of "real" designers. To her credit, she did bring out a dress that I was surprised to like - a well-known name for $13k! - but I had five minutes left to try it as they pushed us out the door. I was told that to look at it again, I'd have to reschedule for another time several weeks away (even though they knew that we'd come from FL)! You wouldn't put up with that buying a pair of jeans; one certainly shouldn't suffer it spending four and five figures for a wedding gown. Instead, I chose a gorgeous custom-designed gown & veil from another salon (a designer carried by Kleinfeld, but not purchased through them), and the designer himself did each fitting. Unlike the "Kleinfeld experience," I wasn't treated like trash in the process. Kleinfeld is horrid. Rude. Unhelpful. A factory. A waste of your time and quite possibly your money.

Disappointed New York on Selection/ Disinterested Service

Familiar all my life with the store for its popularity, I had to wonder why. A friend of mine is getting married and having known from others of its reputation decided to take my friend there. Of course, we made an appt., where the consultant was pleasant and on time - but overall disappointed with what I viewed from the internal waiting area. First the dresses are glamorous, but glamorous if you want to look like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City - wearing combinations of lace and satin (which should be an ABSOLUTE - NO, NO). Second (most important), I observed so MANY consultants acting more like generic salespeople from any store. When you go into Kleinfeld's, you should expect first class assistance, but the consultants appeared haggard and distressed; while at times deliberating over one another's work schedules in front of customers. It may have a grand selection, but there was NO wedding vibe here. Rather, I could have gone to Macys and rec'd similar adequate service. BTW, when did consultants stop making suggestions to brides. Some of them stood around without expressing any input, while I took it upon myself as a shopper to suggest a different fit and cut to this new bride who also left dissatisfied. We all left thinking this is not the place for us; so we will look at Carolina Herrera, V. Wang, and other boutiques hoping for better service. To the consultants, SMILE, brides should not feel like they are an imposition to you

Worst Dress Shopping Experience, By Far

Wedding dress shopping should be a special, fun, exciting experience. Right? Not at Kleinfelds! They are rude, pushy, and snotty. They don't care if you look good or about fashion. They only care about getting you to spend as much as possible by making you feel really bad about yourself & your budget. After I told my consultant my budget ($3,000), she told me, "the average dress they sell is $6,000." Now, I know it's a low amount for Kleinfelds but I also know people who spent that amount or less there. Nevertheless, it was her attitude that insulted me. She proceeded to walk me into a warehouse-like room to look for dresses on my own while she took a 15 minute phone call. The rest of my appointment, I was pressured like I have never been pressured before...and I'm a litigator! I RAN out of Kleinfelds like my life depended on it.

I shopped at Kleinfelds by appointment. They told me 45 mins into the appt.... "You have 20 minutes left"... They told me on the phone that I would have about 1.5 hours. I felt so rushed.. I also had a woman who couldn't be more annoying. She made me try on this ridiculous Pinnina dress that was way out of my budget and didn't fit my body. She was wasting my time but rushing me!! I felt fat b/c she kept saying.. "Not for your Body!". Thought they were famous for a reason. The place is beautiful but like a factory. I bought a James Clifford elsewhere.

Not Worth the Hype

Kleinfeld was my very first bridal appointment. I was informed by others beforehand that representatives at bridal salons take good care of you and are attentive. In my experience, true to a certain extent. I had no idea I was going to end up under an overbearing sales assistant who WOULDN'T allow me try on the ones I was interested in. She input her opinions on what looked good or not throughout the entire time, as if it was HER bridal appointment and not mine. At first I let it go, but it kept recurring. That was annoying. I was hoping to spot a dress or two I was interested in, but with such time wasted - it was definitely a huge disappointment, especially it being my first bridal appointment.

"latin brides are known to not want to spend too much"

  • No, I would not go back!

Kleinfelds was one of the first places I went to because of their selection. After trying on a few dresses I decided to come back to try on a couple I liked for my mom. I noticed I was given a different consultant/salesperson, a latin woman. I was told by her, who was nice and helpful, that her bosses assigned her to help me this time around because she would "understand" my culture & latinas are known to not want to splurge on their gown. Something to keep in mind if you're a latin girl like me beginning your wedding gown trek.

Horrific Experience!

i should of taken the advice from all & everyone that had been there before me. They suggested (strongly) not to shop there. The manager and owners need to learn to respect their clientele. Their manager, Joan, with her condescending, above-all attitude, needs to go...and maybe they need to change their sales tactics. Wonder if their partner Mr. W. Rogers, knows how they treat their customers??? They made what should of been a wonderful experience into such a regretful event. In visiting a few other bridal stores since, I Have experienced the Joy of shopping for my dress and bought one. Now I just need to forget I was ever at Kleinfeld but I will be sure to pass my experience at Kleinfeld on to future brides before I do. I should of listened!!!!! My Equation of MY Kleinfeld visit= Pressure Sales= Rude Managers=Deal Closers=Bottom Line = USED CAR DEALERSHIP
