A Slice of Heaven With a Side of Warmth and Some Good Yarn, Too!
By Rosiechat on 3/11/2011
La Casita is truly my home away from home, even if that distance is nothing more than a 10 minute walk. The shop and its owners, Jen and Amanda, plus expert handicrafter Hannah, and the rest of the crew, make for a delectable combination that has customers staying around for hours at a time. I just spent several hours there myself yesterday evening gabbing with the crew (making new friends, too), knitting, relaxing to the music playing [a constant feature of the place, by the way, that subtly releases your tensions within seconds of walking in], enjoying some prosecco and chocolate cake - how much better can life get? The atmosphere is always inviting and even includes quite frequently a demographic one rarely sees in a yarn store: men! So, in addition to many of the fun and fabulous restaurants and bars that make Smith Street the destination that it has become for anyone who visits or lives here, a stop at La Casita Yarn Shop should be "obligatorio", too! And you'll be back for more, as La Casita es su casa.
