I've been shopping at Lane Bryant since I was a teenager, at first horrified at the thought of buying clothes from the same store my mom and aunt shopped at, then humbled by the lack of other options available to plus size women.

These days, I'm proud to shop at Lane Bryant. They've changed with the times, appealing to a younger, fresher clientele, trading in the old caftans, tunics, and palazzo pants of our mothers' generation for sexy corsets and fabulous low-riders.

The success of Lane Bryant has raised the bar for other designers, who have just caught on to the fact that 60% of American woman wear a size 14 or larger. Arguably, we have the pioneering efforts of Lane Bryant to thank for the fact that designers from Tommy Hilfiger to Donna Karan now cater to us curvy gals.

Oh, and don't sleep on their annual spring fashion show, featuring the likes of Kate Dillon, Carre Otis, Mia Tyler, and Tami Fitzhugh. These girls are fierce! And they're not afraid to rock a thong AND eat the chocolate cake.
