Bad customer service, awful attitude
By ctc110 on 3/15/2007
I placed an order for a designer floor lamp which costs me a couple thousand bucks. I was told it would arrive in 3-4 weeks. I called the store after waiting more than 1 month and not hearing from the store. The person who answered the phone was rude and unapologetic. Apparently, my lamp was never in stock and it had to be reordered from the country of origin, Italy. The guy gave me big attitude about not knowing when it will arrive due to homeland security issues and other bogus excuses. It is unacceptable service!!! When I asked to talk to his manager he gave me more attitude saying there will be no use in complaining. My friend called for me as well the following day to pursue this further and got the same bad attitude from a different person who answered the phone. These guys should not be in business for the lack of customer service I received. I won't recommend this store to anyone who wants to buy designer products.
Convenient lighting store in my neighborhood

large show room and grreat place to buy bulbs.
Do NOT go here
By nbdubois on 10/19/2007
Bought several lights here at considerable expense. Supposed to arrive in 6 weeks, but took more than 12. When they arrived color was wrong and shade was wrong. I was told a return would be possible, but after 3 months more delay, was told that neither the shade nor the lights could be returned. Throughout the customer service was poor, my calls were not returned, and at the end of the day I ended up with $2000 worth of lights that I had not ordered. I had been warned by others that customer service at Lee's was deplorable, but foolishly pushed ahead with my purchase. Do not make the same mistake. Incidentally, it is a good place to look for lights that you subsequently order on-line where they are cheaper, quicker, and far more pleasant.
Store lies about having an ā€œexpress delivery planā€ and terrible customer service

Unfortunately I did not read costumer reviews before I went into Leeā€™s Studio at 57th street in NYC. Before purchasing several pieces of furniture, we asked about delivery date , as we needed the pieces as soon as possible. The sales person guarantee to us that the pieces we wanted were in stock in the US and that our purchase was under the storeā€™s ā€œexpress delivery planā€, meaning 2-4 weeks delivery time. At the approach of the 4th week since purchase, I started calling the store to find out about delivery date. I also sent an e-mail to the sales person. I still do not have a delivery date, no email answers and, when I call the store, I am treated as unwelcome as possible by the staff, who are rude. I tried several times now to talk with the 57th St. store manager, but only get his answer machine. One staff tells me that ā€well, the manager is busy, that is life, keep trying his answering machineā€. I agree with other reviewers of Leeā€™s Studio, this store should not be in business!

This place is completely infuriating. I placed an order in mid-November for three lamps and am still waiting for them. I called them today (for the 2nd time) to find out what was going on, and was informed that they'd be available for pick up from the store in two weeks time. So, 9 weeks waiting for some pretty standard lighting that I could have picked up from IKEA. What is even more irritating is that they charge $40 to ship each item. That's one thing when it arrives the next day; another thing entirely when you wait 9 weeks for your items. All I can say is, don't shop at this place. I'm still fuming!
Store has an abundant selection of beautiful things

Initially went to the store to look at some lamps and was a bit apprehensive due to the reviews but left the store with several gifts for my family and a smile. Sales people were helpful and I found star wars legos for my son, tree making kit for my daughter and a lamp for myself. I got to buy everything in one store.
