Its amazing how much we saved with Gregory on our home remodeling project. The staff was really patient with us and we were able to find everything we needed under one roof. its a big store and it can be overwhelming sometimes but theyve got great people on staff to help you understand whats what.

25% restocking fees. Six months to get my refund. Ordered on 12/10/08, refund on 6/16/09. They blamed it all on Ram Lighting who gets the restocking fee according to them. Do not take responsibility for anything they are responsible for. Item not as pictured on web site. Employees are rude. Had to call CEO to get them to move. Then I was given my refund a week later. I guess they do not have computers for anything but taking your order and your money. Many calls and e-mails ignored. Just say No to Gregory.

We bought a ceiling fan from them, went to pick it up, and they couldn't find it. They said they're still working out the kinks of online ordering ... but while in the store, we found almost everyone to be rude and not interested in solving this problem (except the front desk woman, who was nice, even though not very effective). Don't bother with these folks. There are half a dozen other lighting stores in the neighborhood that have good stuff and want your business.

I read the other reviews but I figured in it was "best of" I should try it out. Big mistake. I went to get a ceiling fan and the salesperson was totally unhelpful. She tried to convince me that if the fan has a pull chain it can't be operated by a wall switch. I can't believe she's supposed to be a "professional salesperson". Nothing was in stock. Some fans were in stock but the light kits were not! Price were high. Selection was mediocre. I found something that was okay and asked her if it was in stock. She said she needed to fill out an order form to find out and asked me to put my info on the order form. I told her I only wanted to find out whether they had it in stock - not order it. She looked so irritated with me and rolled her eyes. I walked out of the store. DON'T GO THERE!!!

This company does not carry inventory for it's internet sales. They are a broker and will charge your credit card(s) in advance. I have never received the merchandise and they have failed to repond to my e-mail requests and do not answer the phones nor return telephone messages. When you are lucky enough to get a live body on the phone you will be treated with disrespect and rudeness. As I learned, it is just a hardware store that got on the internest sales wagon without creating the infrastructure to support a business. Save the frustration and order from legitimate on-line vendors.

You can spend thousands on a product, only to be treated like garbage by the salesmen who demand a "consultation fee" to answer a simple question. If the manufacturers of certain products understood how poorly this store represents their products, this store would not have a Manhattan monopoly on the products. I would never recommend this store to a professional, client or friend.

Went to Lighting by Gregory to save money. Very few items you see, are actually in stock including flourescent light bulbs. The management is rude and nothing can be returned, only exchanged, even if an item is defective. Prices may be slightly cheaper than uptown, but as a result of the trek downtown and the abusive treatment, it is definitely not worth the trip.
