LoomÂ’s unique, beautiful products and staff have been wonderful since the week it opened and I bought French room spray that smelled like the forest. I was a regular customer until I moved outta Brooklyn. Even on a social worker's budget, I could always find something I loved. Stopping in and looking around was a treat and I never felt unwelcome when I didnÂ’t buy anything. After I was assaulted and mugged in the neighborhood, the staff was so sweet to me and helped me find a purse that I felt safe carrying. I was a mess that day and I will never forget how nice everyone was. One sales woman helped me find a perfect outfit that I wore on my first date with the guy I fell in love with. I've seen staff be patient and gracious with demanding, entitled customers and calm and professional when the store was packed. My favorite items I bought at LoomÂ… a pink winter hat with embroidered flower, elegant Ginger Michelle purse, silver hoop earrings with tiny birds perched inside, green tea perfume, JoeÂ’s jeansÂ… I could go on forever.

...that the owner and her staff hate their jobs. And their customers. At least that's what it seems like. The vibe in this place - despite all the pretty things - is COLD. The good selection of Tano has kept me going back despite the nastiness of the staff. I've bought 10+ bags at Loom. Today something happened that finally put me over the edge. I asked the woman if she had any Boogie Buckets in stock. She looked at me with disdain and said, "no, my customers are bored with that bag. I don't order it any more." "Her customers?!?!" I AM HER CUSTOMER! And not for nothing, the style I asked for is Tano's bestselling signature bag. That was the last straw. I am never going back to Loom. Good riddance. If only I could get back the $3000+ I spent there and give it to a store that treats its customers with some warmth and respect.

How to reward a $400 customer?

Well, if you work at Loom, it's likely you will shove the $400 coat your customer just purchased back at them when they ask to exchange it or get a store credit. I purchased a beautiful coat for my sister well before Christmas, only to find that it didn't fit her at all. I took it back to Loom after the holiday only to be scoffed at by the manager who called my attempt to return the coat "ridiculous". She literally slammed the coat onto the counter, my receipt on top of it and stormed out. Not exactly sure how she intends to make a living after treating her customers that way. Horrible customer service - I really recommend people think twice before making a sizable purchase at this place.

I've always enjoyed Loom but an experience I had at their clothing annex was so awful that I will never go there again. I wanted to try on and was told that I would have to wait-understandable as there is only one fitting room in the whole store. I had no problem waiting and browsed some more until finally, 15 minutes later, they room was free. After trying things on I was getting dressed when I heard the salesgirl greet another customer. She then came over to me said, "I don't mean to rush you but I have someone waiting." I couldn't believe that after waiting so long for the fitting room in the first place, I was being ushered out so rudely for someone who had just arrived. I had to say something. "I just want to say," I said, "in a store with only one fitting room, customers should be able to take their time." "You know what?" she snapped, "Don't come back." I was so shocked that I said the first thing that came to mind. "Don't worry. I won't." And I left.

I was surprised to read the two negative reviews, I'm sorry to hear they had negative experiences. I love this place as do so many of my friends. I will say that their return policy is clearly posted in the store and the person didn't say how lmuch time had passed since she bought the purse. Who does returns after the period with no tags? I have always had friendly service and been very happy with my purchases. I just pop in from time to time to browse and even though I'm not buying anything the staff is alway is friendly and helpful. It's a diverse crowd that shops there much like their selection of goods. I find all sorts of wonderful gifts for so many people on my list.

Last night I went back to LOOM to exchange a bag I have never worn simply becuase it falls off my shoulder when worn with a coat.. who knew? I bought it not wearing a coat. WITH receipt and bag in hand I got rejected! No tags, return/ exchange after 2 weeks, no DICE!! Since when is a reciept null and void? What kinda crap is that. Some advice for park slopers, if you don't want to deal with pushy salespeople that practically force you to buy, that also have a really lousy return policy DO NOT GO TO LOOM. Now I am $165 poorer and have a bag that falls off my shoulder! Proud to say I am selling it on ebay.

this store is my first stop for any gift buying...especially for home and body gifts. the service isn't fantastic...but it's forgiveable for the quality of merchandise...be warned...it's tiny and popular--so claustrophobics might want to prepare for quick exit...if they can take their eyes off the merchandise.

I was in there today - a Sunday-. Yeah, its the holiday season but you don't need five working a store that size. No room to move around but that is not the worst thing- the sales people hounding over you is annoying. I picked up one item and the clerk stared me up and down to make sure I did not steal it. Not the first time they have made me feel that way. And my roommate, as well. We are yuppies, just like the majority of folks in the neighborhood. If you have an issue with shoplifters --and as a person who worked retail for 11 years-- maybe its because you have to much volume. However, employees that stare you down are not a plus. Great place for gifts and its a great walking distance from my home however the personnel - including the snobby attitude, it's retail for good sakes- need to bring it down a level.

This exceptional neighborhood gift shop was my main stop for holiday shopping for my grandchildren, two daughters, their husbands, and hard-to-shop-for family friends. Despite the hectic holiday crowd, the employees were charming and helpful; in less than half an hour, I had put together a dozen Christmas presents with the suggestions by the knowledgeable young storeowner and a young man who worked there. The presents were a hit among the 2-year-old (a handmade panda bear made of pink yarn) to 62-year-old (beautiful silver frame). I plan to go there again soon.
