Just Don't Call Them...

No, I would not go back!

Attempted to locate a dress that was advertised as being sold at Lord and Taylor. I called the Manhattan store 5 times in the course of an hour and got absolutely nowhere. Calls were routed to the 6th floor instead of the 3rd and then rerouted to the 3rd where no one picked up. I finally asked for a supervisor and was then routed to an extension and heard nothing but silence for 4-5 minutes, no elevator music, no voicemail, no nothing. When I called back a final time and hit 0 for the operator, the system went into a fast busy. I have never experienced such poor customer service over the phone from a large department store ever. I even called the corporate offices and surprise, surprise, got voice mails also. I would much rather find my dress, but now will be sending a complaint letter to the owner, Richard Baker. Improvements are needed.

i started shopping at lord & taylor last year. i had not been there since i was a kid and WOW was i surprised! the selection is so great. much more contemporary than what you'd expect. great service and values. i just checked out their website and found it really easy to navigate. quick and simple to order. i picked up 3 cashmere sweaters! i just hope the secret doen't get out!

Yes, I would go back!

Sometimes there are items you just need to purchase from a department store. Or maybe you want the experience of being able to get everything in one place. All the other department stores in the city are so packed with tourists, it's hard to get your shopping done. Lord and Taylor is like the department stores you went to as a child: civilized and calm.

The store really looks great. The window displays are fabulous - art exhibits, cars and more. Plus, Larry Forgione is running their newly remodeled restaurant and the food is outstanding. I love shopping for dresses there - as well as clothing for my husband. It's very updated and modern.

I am an avid Lord & Taylor shopper and I absolutely love it there. I just recently checked out their website & saw that you can now shop online! The site is fantastic and easy to use. I just bought cashmere sweaters for my family and picked up some great gifts for the holiday. Definitely an A+ in my book.

Lord & Taylor IS Manhattan's Best Department Store! It's new owners have ALREADY returned Lord & Taylor to it's original identity as Fashion Leader, stocking the store with fashionable merchandise & Manhattan's NICEST sales help! Theory,Bobbi Brown, Carmen Marc Valvo,Betsey Johnson,NARS,Juicey Couture,Badgley Mischka,Eileen Fisher, Cole Haan,7 For All Mankind,Hudson,Nicole Miller,Ralph Lauren,Donna Karan,DKNYC,Shoshanna,Cynthia Vincent,Hanro,Max & Cleo,Lafayette 148 NY,Leilani,Oscar De La Renta,David Meister,Givenchy,Michael Kors,Morgan McFeeters,Laundry,& so many more. WHAT do I need from any other store where the help is not interested in really helping the customer because they think they are SOLELY there to look/feel Hip? I don't!
