Yes but, the BAGS!

I love this place and consider it part of an endangered species of unique and funky shops in Manhattan. It's true that the Mexican items are special, but for me it's all about Mark's bags. I have bought so many I have lost count. They are my favorites, for me, and for gifts (and some friends have gotten more than one!). Each design is perfect in its own way, and the practicality cannot be overstated. These bags are made for city living. When I carry them on trips abroad, even in Italy (!) they spark a conversation that always begins with a compliment. If you don't need a bag, get a backpack, a pouch, a wallet - there is something for everyone, and it is all made with love by hand on Mark's vintage machine right there in the shop. Yes, a shop. More than just a store.

Got exactly what I was looking for. Was able to call ahead to confirm that they had the item. Store is small and neat with a nice selection for a small shop.

Some Hints:

  • The best reviews give a clear sense of why you liked or disliked a restaurant, bar, or store. And that means details. Mention specifics dishes, type of crowd, pros and cons...
  • If it's helpful to compare one place to another, go for it.
  • Come up with clever, funny, pithy subject lines, and write in the first person.
  • Don't forget to read the user rating guidelines and rules.
