a beautiful shopping respite.
By nycjenny on 11/20/2009
this shop is a hidden gem in nyc. from the exterior it seems surprisingly simple and small but when you enter you quickly find it is anything but. it is the anti-department store. a place where you dont have to waste time weeding through endless racks of mediocre mass-produced monotony. each piece feels carefully handpicked for you + they are- most cannot be found elsewhere in nyc. the salespeople are incredibly attentive, personable and knowledgeable about each piece and how they should fit. at the same time you never feel hounded.this is a place to go to treat yourself. i only found this shop at their UES location earlier this year and since then i have fallen in love with fashion again. try either spot for that one piece you will love. i dare you to leave it at that.
Great clothes and esthetic but had bad experience!!!

very dissapointed when I stopped in to ask the price of a dress that I loved and was told $400 then I went to the bank and took out $400 to pay for it and then when I went to buy the dress I saw that the tag said $585!!! the sales girl just said "sorry, my mistake" and did nothing to back her false advertising of price! at this point I love the dress and found it online for $559 and I called the manager to tell her and got NO response! in this economy you should value every customer that walks in the door and not be such snobs!
nice things, bad service
By mrbrewer on 4/3/2009
Ludivine has some nice, french clothes. However, they also have some very bad service. One time when I went in the owner? was on her cell phone the entire time I was in the store, and barely looked in my direction. Another time, a young blond saleswoman was very cold, rude about my wet umbrella and completely unfriendly. If you want to spend big bucks and feel like a pariah, Ludivine is the store for you.
