In a perfect world all engagement ring shopping would end at MP

Marisa and her husband Douglas were beyond wonderful. I went in thinking that I would never be able to afford anything in their shop on my non-profit salary and ended up with a "from the ground up" custommade ring that was 3X the size of things I'd seen at Tiffany's, far more beautiful and less money. Marisa and Douglas spent hour upon hour with me over the course of multiple consultations to ensure that I got exactly the design I wanted (all the while staying within my budget). The results were nothing short of artistry - an instant family heirloom. Even though we've been engaged for months now, I still catch my fiancee admiring the ring when she thinks no one is else is watching. Walking into their little shop might be the second best decision I've ever made.

Though I was tempted to get my fiance one of their amazing micro pave rings (the ones with the little diamonds in the shank) I decided with the guidance of head designer Douglas to create my own custom ring in the style of a ring my grandmother used to wear. Overall I ended up getting the girl and everyone was surprised that I could afford such an amazing ring.

I visited this store to see if they could make a ring, for which I had a picture and exact measurements. Marisa and Douglas Perry said they could easily replicate the ring. They charged us a fee (+$1,500) to create a mold. We suggested they visit the high-end jewelry store where we tried-on the ring. Douglas said it would cost half of the price of the high-end store. They showed us a mold that did not resemble the picture. Douglas said he spoke with a sales rep that gave him a different set of measurements for the individual diamonds, yet they gave him the same total carat weight (2.5). He produced a ring whose total carat weight was less than 1ct. He said it was because my ring size was 4.75, however, I tried the ring on at the store and it still was the same total carat-weight. Douglas looked dumbfounded when we showed him how his basic arithmetic did not add up. Marisa agreed that her husbandÂs math was not adding up and he should have noticed. They will not refund our deposit, nor will they return our phone call.
