Lovely vibe, beautiful items
By jcs on 8/26/2010
This store reminds me of a favorite in LA (recently moved to Sonoma) called Zipper. Both stores have a distinctive feel -- airy, clean, elegant, beautiful with a little bit of whimsy. And both feature the work of real artists and artisans, not mass-produced knock-offs. The furniture at MH is gorgeous and a good value for its quality (I would guess the price point is close to DWR but just a guess). If you are not in the market for high-ticket items like furniture, you can also find beautiful ceramics, glassware, jewelry, bags, etc. Good addition to the Chelsea area -- nice vibe and the staff is very well-informed and passionate (in a good, not pushy, way).
The Stuff of Dreams

Breeze in off the chaotic streets of the city and luxuriate in all the fab-and-classy goods in this store. It's one of those places that gets your domestic daydreaming activated. I thought it was nicely laid out. Not cluttered. And inches from the 18th St # 1 subway, so it's easy to get to.
One of the best furniture and homeware stores in Manhattan
By kathgray on 6/28/2010
As someone looking for beautiful, well made and unique furniture and homewares, I could not go past Michael Hennesy Home in Chelsea. MHH has a carefully curated range of pieces made by artists from around the world. And Michael Hennesy's own hand-made furniture is sublime. I bought a console for the hallway of my home which has transformed the space and created a wonderful first impression of the apartment. Unlike other stores, MHH is welcoming and well merchandised. If I could move in, I would!
I want to move in

This place is gorgeous! From the furniture (Particularly the beautiful leather couch and the long, natural wood, dinner table) to the artwork, to the knowledgeable staff, Michael Hennesy Home offers an atmosphere of beauty without sacrificing comfort and warmth.
