great selections of jewelry but after my sister's ring purchase experience (and judging from other reviews there are also registry issues at this retailer), I would never buy here. It's a fabulous place to browse but save yourself some aggravation and get your engagement ring at a place that offers better service even if you have to go direct to the manufacturer site and check for other retailers. As far as diamonds go -- unrelated to their service -- the selection is decent but know that you will be paying at least 30% premium or so vs high end diamond retailers like Brian Gavin, Whiteflash, James Allen in NYC, or many other numerous good diamond vendors (check a consumer advocate site like pricescope.com and see what others have to say about their purchases). Heck, even Blue Nile has better service.

My husband purchased my wedding band from here. The ring is absolutely gorgeous. But being that we live in California, we really depended on them to provide accurate measurements since it cannot be re-sized. They not only told us the incorrect width, but the incorrect size of the ring. The extra width ended up being fine, but the ring is too big. Being that this wedding band was the only one left, we really can't do anything about it.

My experience started to sour when I had to deal with a 'consultant' named Klea Kostopoulos. In her email-about a week after registering- she inquired why we had not put our address on our registry (it was filled out when we registered), asked why we had not selected any china (we had 2 different patterns picked out) and addressed me by the wrong name. When I tried to email her to ask a few questions, and correct her mistakes, she was completely useless. Days went by and she never responded, so I sent another email. Again, days went by and I never received a response. I know the emails were read but I guess responding to customer's questions is too good for her. Anyway, after 2 or 3 unanswered emails, I called her. She wasn't in but they assured me she would call me back. Again, I received NOTHING! At this point my fiance and I were disgusted with the entire situation. I called and left her a voicemail telling her how appalled I was with her lack of customer service skills and that I wanted her to cancel the entire registry. Although it wasn't necessary, it would have been nice of her to call or email to apologize. Nope! All she did was cancel the registry. I guess that was the only way she was helpful. Perhaps another consultant would have been helpful but this woman was completely useless. As long as this Klea woman is there, I will not shop there nor recommend this store, for anything!!!

Please do NOT waste your time registering here. They do not know what they are doing when it comes to registries. Customer service has proved unhelpful on several occasions. They caused me much unneeded stress before and after my wedding. I only registered here because it was the only place that sold my formal china as separate pieces while also offering registries. There are so many other things to stress about while planning a wedding, and the registry process should not be one of them. My complaints include: 1. Our everyday china was discontinued, but I was not notified by Michael C. Fina. I wrote an email to them to see why I was not notified and received a response saying they send email notifications and that I probably received one but it must have gone to my spam folder. I do not have a spam filter. 2. They changed their website layout halfway through my year-long engagement. The discontinued china reappeared on our registry, and no matter how many times or different ways I tried to remove it, it remained on the registry. A guest ended up purchasing one of the pieces. I then created a second registry so that the discontinued pieces would not show up. 3. Seven months after our wedding, we have yet to receive the majority of our gifts despite several phone calls to customer service. I was chided for creating a second registry. Pros: Nice selection of china brands and patterns Cons: Terrible registry system, Very poor customer service

I bought my engagement ring here and was very disappointed in the service. They were the only dealer for A Jaffe (the manufacturer) or I wouldn't have bought here. Firstly, they started giving me bad service when it was clear I was only buying the mounting (not the center stone) from them. I get it, stores want to sell the center diamond, but that's no excuse for the sales rep (a woman named Libby) not returning emails. Secondly, when they found out I had a 15% discount through my employer, they increased the ring price by $1000 just as we were putting our credit card down (they knew my then-BF was only in town for 2 days and we probably wouldn't have time to shop around again). Then they charged his card for the balance 50% without so much as a courtesy call. They never called when the ring was ready (we called them 5 days after the card had been charged, and they confirmed it was ready). Lastly, I put all this in a complaint letter and weeks later there has been no response. I hope that A Jaffe establishes another dealer in NYC.

I went to Michael C. Fina last week to help my brother pick out an engagement ring for his girlfriend. I had heard from my co-worker, whose husband got her gorgeous Michael B. ring from there. We went in just to do some window shopping, but were pleasantly surprised by the incredible selection there. Needless to say, we found the perfect ring from Tacori. I love Tacori's antique look with a modern flare! The salesperson was really helpful and made us feel comfortable investing in the ring, so it was an easy process. Overall, I was really happy with my experience and so was my brother. He's proposing very soon!

After being turned off by the high pressure, low customer service, snake oil salesmen approach of the 47th street jewelers, Michael C. Fina was a blessing to my fiancee and I. My fiance was so nervous because he didn't know about diamonds and he didn't want to get ripped off and he wanted to buy me a ring that I loved. Michael C. fina had a beautiful selection of settings and we were able to select a stone that we both loved. The sales lady was very helpful and nice. We really felt comfortable making such a big purchase at a reputable store. I love my ring and my finace has his peace of mind. Also, we had budget and I am pretty certain that my fiance was able to buy my ring within the budget.
