Not Just a Great Store, But a Fascinating One.
By CarmelaC on 7/6/2011
Visiting this shop is like stepping into a cabinet of curiosities. (I thought of the artist Joseph Cornell as I browsed.) Everything has been carefully chosen, and the owners happen to have impeccable taste. You'll want to linger at every display. This is where you should go if you're hoping for a truly unusual gift--you'll find vintage items as well as new stuff that you're unlikely to find elsewhere. (There is a nice range of price points, too.) The owners are kind and welcoming, and happy to answer questions. I walked in this afternoon intending only to browse, but I left with some wonderful things! I plan to go back soon and buy presents for friends. Modern Anthology is my new favorite store.
Great selection, amazing service.

I'm one of those people cursed with guy friends who have great taste and already seem to already own everything cool. Modern:Anthology gives me the opportunity to both one-up them and pick up presents that even the most discerning guy can appreciate. Plus the owners are readily available to answer questions about everything from small accessories to interior decorating services. Worth the quick trip to DUMBO.
A wonderful, rustic shop filled with fascinating sundries and curiosa!

I dropped by this Dumbo boutique for the first time last week! The stock of goods is pretty diverse and extremely well curated. The two owners appear to wear all the hats as far as operating the place, and that must be why the experience is so warm and personal -- it's almost like customized shopping! Definitely coming back to get that flask.
Definitely worth forty minutes of my Saturday

Went on a recent trip back home. Love the new wallet, love the canisters. Prices are on the higher end of reasonable, but definitely worth the experience! Very excellent service, too -- she didn't get all up in my grill but definitely made herself available. Couldn't find all the stuff I needed at the prices I wanted, but definitely worth a look or two if you're into just browsing lots of cool, interesting things.

Love this shop. They carry a ton of cool vintage stuff and modern housewares like glasses, plates.. I bought a Stanley flask and all my guy friends want to steal it. It is the kind of place you just browse forever - the owners don't bug you to buy anything and answer questions if you have them. They are super nice and even went so far as to google other shops in the area that might have what I was looking for!
Great new store for guys

This store offers a great selection of products catered to men with a sensibility for design. It's nice to see a new store with this unique focus popping up in the area. I found the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable as well. I'll definitely shop there again.

After reading about this shop in a recent issue of Elle Decor Magazine, we headed to DUMBO to check it out - it was well worth the trip! They had a really great selection of unique and fun pieces that were a mix of vintage and new. My boyfriend literally wanted to move into the store, and when it comes time to find him a gift that he'll love, I'm sure that I'll be back!
