Terrible cutomer service. Nothing in stock! I'm amazed they are still in business!

I'ts great that a village, mom & pop shop, designer boutique still exists and has a nice selection of decorative objects from the market...just wish they could keep them in stock!... or at least be able to order their merch. when requested.? Staff seems a bit 'in the dark' and too concerned with small tourists $$, and management could care less about larger orders. Don't forget about your neighbors!!!!

I have purchased from Mxyplyzyk for several years now and have to say that a some of my favorite things in my home are from there, including a couple of my lamps and tables, as well as glassware and vases. The past year or so tho it is just not as interesting as in the past but what bugs me more than anything and the reason I dont go in more often is because the guy who I understand is the owner is such a sourpuss. Never asks if u need help and never seems to appreciate your business. I will say tho, that the guy and girl that are usually behind the counter are extremely helpful and gracious, but that owner has no customer skills at all. Not sure how or why he ended up with this store.

Small store with great gifts for friends and for decorating the home. While the customer service could have been a little more attentive, once I asked for help, they were lovely. Overall, everything was reasonably priced, and the whimsical selection kept me browsing for more than an hour.

I always shop at Mxyplyzyk for unique and hard-to-find items. I am not surprised to see that they are one of the best bet stores recommended by nymag. I purchased a Funtote Gerbera tote bag from them a while ago, it came with 4 well designed pockets, and an elegant style, it's eco-friendly and bio-degradable, after all, it didn't empty my wallet!

The neighborhood and visitors will miss this friendly, quirky and affordable shop. I was shocked and saddened to see the storefront dark, and the interior entirely vacated when I recently walked past (early January 2013). Their website made no mention of this closure, but may be worth checking for updates? Site does also describe a NJ location.
