I've been buying art supplies from NY Central for more than 20 years. I've never experienced one negative event. You do have to know what you're looking for when you go in. Even the owner, Steve Steinberg, helps out customers.

Not Impressed

The staff are extremely rude, unfriendly and completely unhelpful. The range of paper is commendable, but the assistance with and presentation of is below par. Do not expect the staff to know anything about standard metric sizes, so come prepared with your inches equivalent. The range of materials and stock downstairs is not as extensive as advertised, and you would be better off going to a larger, friendlier store.

Some Hints:

  • The best reviews give a clear sense of why you liked or disliked a restaurant, bar, or store. And that means details. Mention specifics dishes, type of crowd, pros and cons...
  • If it's helpful to compare one place to another, go for it.
  • Come up with clever, funny, pithy subject lines, and write in the first person.
  • Don't forget to read the user rating guidelines and rules.
