One of the best stores in New York. In comparison to a store like Best Buy, it is in a class of its own. Last year, I asked the manager coordinating the traffic flow at the checkout line if he knew who the owner was. It was the owner whom I was speaking to. I related to him the fantastic service I had just received by one of his staff who actually accompanied me to different departments to find me a suitable set of knee pads. Paragon is a class act, and is nothing less than a New York "institution."

I have been shopping at Paragon sports for over 15 yrs and have always been amazed by their selection and quality of products, but until today had not experienced their amazing customer service! After a truly agonizing ordeal trying to get a jacket repaired through the manufacturer - Sales Manager - Dan Fowler, went above and beyond the call of duty! Paragon is better than any chain in every way possible! Don't walk - run for all of your sporting goods needs!

What a steal? The selection is amazing. I stopped by Union Square on my way back to Boston this past weekend and went into Paragon Sports for some winter deals. I needed a deck for Spring Boarding in Vail. I'm headed out there in two weeks and expecting some great weather. I'm a Burton fanatic and I found myself a brand new deck for $350. The sales were amazing and I would definitely recommend hitting this place up for great deals!

I've shopped at Paragon since the late '70s. It was then and still is the best in NYC for selection and convenience. It feels like a typical NYC shopping experience should feel like: ultimately satisfying, but a little worn on the edges. They DO sell just about everything, even tennis permits. Many on the staff do know their stuff. I'd buy a tennis racket there, but I wouldn't have it strung there (too much of a factory in that respect). Only a fool would go there just to buy shoes on the weekend: it's a madhouse. You may wait a while just to find out they're sold out. Those knocks aside, I really like this store. It's real, and it's ours.
