Pompeii Art Meets The Industrial Style

Went to Paris Framing with an interesting project. I wanted to "frame" the reproduction of "Docta Puella", a fresco from the days of Pompeii. This kind of art from Italy is done on plaster with the old technique used between 49 and 79 AC during the Fourth Pompeii style. Since frescos were done on walls they are not supposed to be framed. But with the expertise of the people at Paris Framing the result is stunning, a combination of Ancient Rome and industrial look. "A Girl with a Stylus and tablets" is now mounted on a large wooden base, painted to resemble distressed stainless steel. The raised frame is painted the same way and the overall effect is that of a newly found luminosity coming from all around the medallion-like face of the Pompeii girl. ANDREW VISCONTI
