One of my favorite unassuming spots in New York city is The Pickle Guys. They are at the corner of Essex and Grand on the Lower East side. We go out of the way to stop here every time we are in the city. That would include asking the cab to drop us off here, on our way in from the airport. At the time this tiny pickle shop happened to also be filled with a field trip of third-graders, backpacks and all. But knowing that it was going to be our only chance for a visit, we squeezed in with all of our luggage too. You may not think that you are a pickle fan until you get here. Just in terms of pickles, there are a few different types from big to small, and almost anywhere on the scale from hot to sweet...but there is so much more than pickles. There are many different olives,....read the rest on aplestoaples.blogspot.
The Best Pickles
By pickleboy80 on 2/28/2011
In need of a gooood pickle? then this is the place for you. Stop by before brunch with a friend and had a bunch of samples, they were ridiculous good. The guy helping me was like "pickles are like shoes, you got to try them before you buy them" boy does he know how to make a sale, I walked out the store buying almost one of each item, lol. The have all kind of pickled vegetables, even fruits like pineapple. Plus I had a blast in there, really friendly people working there. Love you guys. check them out. www.pickleguys.com
Clearly the best pickles in town

I was down by the Pickle Guys' store last month. One of the guys was out front wearing a gas mask because he was grinding up horseradish - what a site! I ordered a gallon of half sour pickles which was crispy and delicious. Al, the owner, was very friendly and offered excellent service - he gave me some of their almond stuffed olives which tasted very good. It was an overall fun shopping experience. I recently discovered their website www.nycpickleguys.com which I will definately bookmark.
Crispy Crunchy Delights

These pickles are the best!!! They are crispy and crunchy and perfectly balanced in flavor. They are always fresh and cold. A perfect snack when walking around the city on a hot day.
