Chic New Discovery!
By WendyLowenowski on 10/1/2016
My friend Amy who works at Vogue recommended Pilgrim to me. I just moved here from Paris to work for another fashion house and am discovering the "new New York". This store is amazing. We pulled 15 pieces for inspiration (we came back and made an appointment), they have extensive archives, the windows are beautifully styled. Great high end designer clothing from new to vintage and all from professional dealers so you don't have to question quality, wear, authenticity, etc. Everything here is a bargain compared to shopping at Bergdorf's (which I love, don't get me wrong!), but my wallet simply can't afford Bergdorf's too often. Also cute restaurants and bars -- everywhere and a great meal while shopping can be had. Pilgrim is known for it's exquisite Chanel Jackets, bags, and jewelry, also the Japanese designer presence here is overwhelming all the great clothing from Japan. I adore Japanese designers, so creative! Definitely if you love fashion for a great price, you have found Nirvana.
Had such a great time here! Best Vintage Comme des Garcons and Chanel In NYC
By Julierubanno on 9/30/2016
Just stroll by the windows, all pristine luxury! Chanel bags and Comme des Garcons outfits on the Mannequins. It looks like Colette in Paris! It's so chic for designer vintage. Everything is immaculate, unworn or new and they buy from dealers as explained to us by one of the owners. I read about them on a beautiful article written by Tabitha Simmons and Indre rockefeller in the City guide on Vogue.com and had to check it out as it is their favorite store in New York. They also have online shipping now which can be dangerous! haha! www.pilgrimnyc.com they list speciality items there and you can get a feel about the store. It's definitely worth the trip downtown! It's a destination! I found great Prada, Ann Demeulemeester, Cedric Charlier, Sacai, all the cool designers! They know their stuff! Great store and very reasonable compared to going uptown.
Paris and Japanese Designers
By Lori.laughlin on 7/7/2016
I read about this store in the City Guide on Vogue.com a while back, quite a beautiful article written by Tabitha Simmons, a top editor at Vogue and stylist. Her recommendations were spot on. Everything here is from dealers, pristine condition, or unworn vintage, rare items, they have huge archives you can make appointments to buy or rent for inspiration for designers, just about any serious fashion person comes here and I've seen quite a few celebrities as well including Cookie from Empire!!!!! That was a thrill. She was so nice and showed me the Hermes bracelet and Chanel bag and YSL couture dress she bought. Such a nice surprise to run into a real celebrity that was so nice. The guys who own this shop are well known in fashion circles and deal exclusively with the best dealers, amazing japanese vintage collection, amazing chanel, they carry rare Martine Sitbon, Martin Margiela, Ann Demeulemeester, Marni, Prada, Miu Miu, just every designer I love actually. I am always thrilled to leave here with a bargain and a beautiful item. Expert curators.
adore this shop

I have been a long time customer here (over 7 years). I love the ever changing up to date fashion here. They get all their items direct from Paris, tokyo, etc. so it's all pristine or unworn condition and authentic. I can't say enough about this store. I have bought Chanel Jackets, Chanel bags, a beautiful Galliano vintage couture gown, some really great French vintage jewelry from the designer Herve van der Straeten here that is really amazing and as he is sold at Bergdorf's I get it here for less than half the price of shopping there. Great tips, and help if needed, but what I really love, is that they let you browse at your leisure here with no pressure to sell sell sell! It's very laid back. Chic and French Louche. Love this place and definitely would recommend to anyone who loves fashion.
Chanel Vintage Capital of New York
By Chantellemoore on 3/27/2015
I had heard about this store thru friends and also in a few magazines and wow. Just wow. It is so beautiful. Expertly curated and I love the concept of mixing new with vintage and everything is like new, the condition is tops as they do not do consignment and the editing is spot on (trust me as someone who works in fashion, this is a real find! and an expert eye curating this store). I loved everything here. The best Chanel bags and jewelry you will see anywhere in New York or probably Paris. Definitely worth a visit, just FYI the weekends can be insanely crowded in this shop!
Most Favorite Store for Fashion Anywhere I shop!
By NYCshopaholic on 1/7/2015
A mix of contemporary high end clothing -- i.e. Comme des Garcons, Isabel Marant, Martin Margiela, YSL, Dior, Yohji Yamamoto to a vast collection of Chanel handbags in pristine condition along with a vibe that can only be characterized as super cool, makes this store my favorite store ever. And I shop everywhere. The edited collection here is the best. From a perfect Gaultier gown to a luxurious Chanel Classic Jacket this place has everything a girl could want that seems otherwise unobtainable (at least for me if I went to Bergdorf's!). I absolutely love this place and the changing of the collections every week. It's truly a treasure that my wallet has come to love and my husband well ---- when I explain what could've been had I gone to Bergdorf's he takes the "damages" a bit easier! hahha. Wonderful. You can't go wrong here.
Probably the Best Designer vintage and unique boutique in New York
By Kateyblack on 12/13/2014
I love boutiques. I love shopping. I travel a lot for work as I work in marketing for a high end fashion label. I'm always on a plane, but whenever I'm in New York, the special trip downtown to Pilgrim New York is always a highlight of my trip. I recently purchased an unused vintage beautiful Dior Backpack, a Huge Bottega Veneta Pebbled Leather tote and 2 Chanel dresses. All for over $2,000. While it's not cheap, compared to uptown and actual retail boutiques where Chanel jackets cost $11,000 alone, this is a steal. They have a huge selection of comme des garcons direct from Tokyo up front, the store is neatly organized and beautifully decorated and the two guys running in, are the ultimate fashion professionals. I can't say enough about my more than several treks here over the years. It's always fun as well, as they are very entertaining in their fashion tips.
One of our favorite boutiques when in New York.
By PeterKarlsson on 12/5/2014
As we are back and forth between Stockholm and New York for nearly the last 25 years, we have come to love certain things about New York that are New York. Pilgrim is one of those places. I just got the most beautiful amethyst/diamond 9ct. gold earrings from the Victorian period for my wife. She is going to love them. Beautifully wrapped in handmade paper and gold tissue, it is such a great feeling to come to a small boutique and feel like they know what you want, they get you and they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful here. Known for years and years in the fashion business as my wife was in fashion P.R. she is very hard to please and has known these guys who own this wonderful shop for ages. I'd highly recommend anyone who seeks something special, luxurious and rare and divine, to run downtown, it's worth the trip.
love this store
By Lorijacobs on 12/3/2014
Best designer vintage store in New York. I love the huge selection of vintage Chanel and all the pieces of Comme des Garcons. I also scored a Prada dress for $300 unworn, a Chanel 2.55 bag ----- in mint condition, and the guys were super helpful to my mother in picking out a really great Adolfo blazer. Super stylish and chic and really the best value for what they offer here. It's not cheap, but compared to Bergdorf's or Harrod's yes, it's a bargain. Love New York and we love you guys at Pilgrim!!!! xoxo Lori
A sparkling jewel in Manhattan
By SamanthaYanksNY on 11/28/2014
I travel from London to New York often and over the last 6 years while working for British Vogue I have become well acquainted with this shop. Livia Firth (married to actor Colin Firth) who used to be an editor for us wrote a marvelous story on this boutique a couple of years back. I just wanted to do an update here as I noticed below a very fake review and I had to comment. I have literally bought 3 Hermes bags here, a Cartier watch probably over 10 Chanel necklaces, an Alexander McQueen gown, amongst other items. There is no other store that has this quality, selection nor editing of merchandise. They are featured in most major European magazines. It's really sad that some disgruntled little girls who can't afford luxury take to the internet in a temper tantrum, but hey it's the internet. There are unbalanced people in this world. I try my best to avoid them. Unfortunately when they attack my favorite store, and my best friends who I have dealt with in Fashion for 20 years I will come to their defense every time. There are no more honorable people than these two. They are fair, just and kind. But every once in a while I realize as I work with the public and celebrities not all people are kind, lovely, or fair. So I am taking the time to write this review and refute the one a few down which is just ridiculous beyond belief. Over $20? What person believes that? It's complete rubbish and bonkers.
