I actually was very close to purchasing a shirt for my fiance but decided not to patronize an establishment with such rude and patronizing staff. I'll take my business where it will be appreciated. I've received better treatment at Kmart.

I can not understand why this place keeps getting such good reviews. While they have some fantastic clothes samples, their fitters and cutters are basically incompetent. Seize Sur Vingt's shirts were ill-fitting and several of the patterns I ordered were different from the ones I had selected in their book. I basically threw away all the shirts I got from them and chalked it up to inexperienced shirt buying. While Seize Sur Vingt has a cool downtown vibe (the reason I went their in the first place), I would recommend, getting over the uptown/downtown divide and heading to several places that make much better shirts at much better price points, including Turnbull & Asser (who's basic cut and collar Seize Sur Vingt is trying to ape), Ascot Chang (which has much more variety in terms of pocket, collar and body choices) and Geneva Custom Shirts, which are just in a different league all together.

The best way handle this shopping experience is to close your eyes and deal. The staff is absolutely evil and are completely clueless in regards to customer service. Especially stay away from any of the girls that are working. BUT, the shirtings and suits are impeccable so if you can endure the trip there, you'll end up with the best of the best.

I've been shopping here for the past five years. James and Co have always strived for impeccable service and satisfaction. I had shirts not cut right and they rectified it AND shipped it to me in NZ. Plus their shirts last for years. Not cheap, but great fabric, tailoring, and the shirts are one-of-a-kind. Much better than traditional Italian designer shirts. 0)

I am a big fan of this place. Funny thing is, it's largely because I have had several AMAZING interactions with the staff. Dont get me wrong, I love the clothes but it was the attentive service that really made the difference for me. Having worked in retail in the past, I'm easily alienated by arrogant and dismissive sales people. My experience in this place was astronomically better than 99% of my soho shopping experiences. The first time I went into the store was with my boyfriend, who was looking for a tailored suit. The sales staff spent several hours helping him find the perfect gettup. Since that day, we've been back multiple times. In sum, it's unfortunate -- and sort of a shock -- that others have had less than positive experiences here. My take: Check it out for yourself.
