The hippest boutique for smart cool girls

TG-170 was also hip 7 years ago, which says a lot about how much hipper it is than all those forgettable "NoLita" boutiques and fashion-hag Soho outposts. At TG-170 they have clothes that you rule, not clothes that rule you. You can feel accepted and desired as a customer even if you're not a size 0 or 2 (gasp!). Owner Terri Gilles, the TG of the name, selects stuff for tiny people and zaftigs alike -- and everyone can find something that looks fabulous. Mellow and accomodating, the staff is gently attentive as needed, helpful, never intrusive, and NEVER snobby. They genuinely want you to look great, and will never give you a cruel onceover before returning to their phone call and gabbling loudly/irritatingly for the entire length of your visit about some dumb friend of theirs... unlike some other shops in the area (ahem). They always have wonderful stuff, unique accessories... a treasure trove.
