After going to many different wedding gown shops in manhattan and brooklyn, I can honestly say the white gown was worth the trip and superior to any of the other shops in regards to gown selection, price ranges and staff. I didn't know what style I wanted and all I was trying on were ball gown types with poofy bottoms. Not one salesperson had recommended that maybe I try on a mermaid style gown until I met Emily at the white gown (who may I add was having her first day working at the white gown). After she showed me numerous mermaid style options I finally found "the one." The prices are much less expensive than other places in the city and they sometimes have special deals (ex: if you buy your gown and veil on the same day you get 50% off alterations) and there is no other shop that I had went to that was offering any type of incentives like that. The staff was so personable (they also send a handwritten note thanking you for visiting their shop- very nice touch!) and very knowledgeable. The seamstress was amazing and had great ideas for adding special touches to the dress. It was a great wedding dress experience and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has a different, unique style or someone who wants a more down to earth, boutiquey experience for buying their wedding dress! I even recommended my best friend to The White Gown and she ended up getting her dress there too! This place is a must for any bride who is on the hunt for their perfect wedding dress!

I found out about the White Gown from an email from theknot, and I am so glad that I went! It was my first wedding dress shopping experience - and as a typical New Yorker/shopper, I tried on things, loved them, but figured that I should go to other stores to see what else was out there as well (I visited gabriela's, david's bridal (aka, hell on earth), pro novias, among others). I quickly decided to go back to the White Gown for a 2 simple reasons: 1, I loved the dresses there the most, and they were very reasonably priced 2, the experience there was unique and wonderful. The ladies who helped me were so lovely and supportive, it really made the whole experience special. I loved working with Erica and Emily during my visits there. The White Gown is a wonderful place - large selection of dresses, and the ladies who work there are very knowledgeable, professional, and helpful! I loved the place so much I actually bought 2 wedding gowns there (am having 2 celebrations, and bought both dresses there!).

I went to several shops before going to The White Gown because I just didn't yet feel secure with my choice. The White Gown was in the neighborhood of my office, so I thought I should check it out as a final stop. Of all shops I visited, I had the greatest experience here and bought my dress here. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. The atmosphere when you walk in is very warm and welcoming. My consultant was Erica and she worked with my budget, which was not huge, and helped me find a fabulous dress. She was extremely professional and did not pressure me to purchase. She showed me what I asked to see and a few different options, and I ended up with something that was a little different and felt exactly like me. Siobhan, the seamstress, was wonderful also and added a sweetheart neckline to the dress in addition to the bustle. She is very talented--she made the sweetheart look like it had been on the dress originally--and she even spent time with one of my bridesmaids at my last fitting showing her how to lace my dress. I married out of state, and the shop even held my dress for me until I left for the wedding. I think what I liked the best was that everyone was respectful of me and the process of selecting a dress, which can feel so overwhelming. I didn't feel like a dollar sign. Every step of my experience there was positive, and I highly recommend the shop.

I checked out at least 6 other places for my wedding gown (most of them being in Manhattan) and I made an appt to the White Gown - just to check it out, just in case. I am SOOO glad that I took that long trip to Brooklyn to see the dresses. The service was absolutely delightful - Erica, my consultant, was just so helpful. She really made me feel like she was there to help me to pick out THE DRESS within my budget -w/o any pressure, not just to sell me a dress. The selection was huge and I bought the dress that night. They give you 10% off if you buy the dress during your 1st visit. Siobhan (seamstress) has been so helpful and did an excellent job on the alteration. I would definitely recommend this place to any girl who wants to shop for that perfect dress w/o feeling like you are just a name or a # on the waiting list!
