Zero + Maria Cornejo, a West Village Experience
By labellalugosi on 11/3/2009
With a name like Zero + and ties to the arts community (Cornejo’s husband is photographer Mark Borthwick and counts Cindy Sherman as a fan), Zero + Maria Cornejo’s clothing embodies a combination of complex geometries and sculptural shapes. A visit to the West Village store makes a natural transition from an afternoon gallery hopping in Chelsea - a recent visit had the staff offering a glass of wine to sip while perusing the well-curated offerings laid out through the minimal space, like Zero’s signature silk dresses and tulip shaped trousers cut this season in sophisticated mohair, silk and tweeds. This is clearly a place for a modern woman with an eye for form, any way you count it.
