Rocco Ciccarelli makes clothing for other tailors all over the city—he’ll also make a suit, jacket, and overcoat for clients directly. With well over 1,000 fabrics to choose from, grooms are sure to find just what they’re after. Prices upon request.

Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren’s Purple Label tuxedo comes in super-luxurious wool with silk lapels ($4,000), and the Black Label tuxedo, a slim-cut flat-front version, starts at $1,995. Any of the three Polo styles of tuxedo are a bargain at $1,095.

Rothmans

This independent, user-friendly store carries suits ($395 to $1,795) and tuxedos ($395 to $1,695) by big-name menswear designers like Canali, Hugo Boss, and Ted Baker. Zegna suits are especially popular.

Saint Laurie Merchant Tailors

Grooms can expect to find modern, understated styles at this old-school tailor. It takes four to six weeks to make suits ($1,500 to $2,000), but they can do rush orders. By appointment only.

Salvatore Ferragamo

The Italian couturiers make three trademark styles of sleek suits (from $1,300). Tuxedo options range from basic black ($2,450) to a navy-velvet two-button notch-lapel version ($2,400). Ties from their vast catalogue make for superb groomsmen gifts.

Seize sur Vingt

Hipsters swear by Seize sur Vingt’s specialty: crisp, tailored dress shirts in a spectrum of colors. For formal weddings, grooms can get ready-to-wear suits (from $1,700), made-to-measure designs (from $2,500), or one of four custom tuxedos (from $3,000).

Thom Browne

Thom Browne designs body-conscious, super-cool suits—mostly cropped at the ankle, with extremely narrow lapels—that offer grooms an edgy alternative to less remarkable looks. Grooms can choose from his existing line (from $3,800) or make an appointment to have a suit made to measure.

Thomas Pink

This glossy boutique offers an array of cuff links, cummerbunds, and bow ties, but it’s most famous for its handsome shirts. The Marcella ($105) is a best seller. Grooms shouldn’t forget to ask about the made-to-order wedding collection.

England’s latest export stocks an array of trendy, wallet-friendly options, such as a navy wool-mix skinny-fit suit for $400, and a line of tight candy-colored neon ones for $500.

Turnbull & Asser

This Britain-based shirtmaker is famous for its single-breasted peak-lapel tuxedo in a wool-and-cashmere blend. It offers ready-made (from $2,950) and made-to-measure versions (from $3,650). Allow at least eight to ten weeks.

Yohji Yamamoto

Yamamoto doesn’t carry tuxedos, but hip grooms go for his no-frills gabardine suits (from $2,000). The shop also stocks Italian narrow-cut suits (from $2,000). Alterations not included.
