A true sewing virtuoso, Canali will design a wedding gown in any color or fabric­. She prefers four to five months to sketch and design bridalwear but has spun out dresses in as little as five weeks. Gowns start at $2,200.

Ghost Tailors

Jean Kormos makes about 20 one-of-a-kind wedding dresses a year. She also reconstructs heirloom gowns. Dresses start at $3,000; alterations at $50.

Guillermo Couture

Guillermo Molina crafts both traditional and edgy bridal gowns and tuxes. Gowns (from $3,500) take eight to ten weeks; tuxes (from $2,800) take four to six.

Mandana Boutique

In just one week, Davar Mandana can make a gown ($2,000 to $5,000) to rival the options at any bridal house. Tailoring runs $75 an hour.

Object Custom Tailor
