Karaoke

Liven up your reception or give an after-party purpose with a karaoke machine. Karaoke Champ (380 Lafayette St.; 212-375-0091) is a supremely professional rental and retail agency. For $200 to $395, you'll get a CD or computerized player with 1,000 to 13,000 songs-an undeniable bargain, but beware of hidden costs: Hiring their D.J. or operator for four hours can set you back up to $300; "peak charges" apply to weekends and New Year's season ($35 to $140); and delivery, setup, and pickup costs another $85. But even the priciest package is cheaper than the cruddiest wedding singer, and the pleasure of belting "Eternal Flame" to your new hubby-that's priceless.
