BodnarMilone LLP

Legal Leaders 2022

New York’s Legal Leaders is a special advertising section for New York Magazine.

Specialty: Family Law

“Clients come to us when they are at their most vulnerable, when the most important parts of their lives are being torn apart,” says Peter Bodnar, Co-Founding Partner, BodnarMilone LLP. “As attorneys focusing on matrimonial and family law, we do everything we can to set them on a path to begin anew in a better place.”

Even under the best of circumstances, divorce is difficult. Add the stress involved with custody issues, property division, maintenance and child support, and the situation becomes even more complex. The attorneys of BodnarMilone possess the experience, talent and creativity to meet such challenges head on and deliver creative solutions.

“There are no cookie-cutter solutions when it comes to divorce,” explains Lydia Milone, Co-Founding Partner. “Every case we work on is unique, with its own particular set of facts. One of the tools we have to help us arrive at a settlement – which is often preferable to litigation – is the collaborative process, an alternative dispute resolution method.”

BodnarMilone also has a reputation for fair and honest negotiating. “We don’t posture; we’re straight shooters,” Bodnar says. “If we are negotiating a point that we know is worth $10,000, we don’t start negotiations at $100,000. We’re realistic and no-nonsense.” It’s an approach that enables the firm to settle cases faster, saving clients time and money. Should litigation be necessary, the firm’s attorneys are more than up to the challenge. “Our role in litigation is to discern how to present what to whom and when to leverage the strengths of the client’s case and maximize the likelihood of a favorable determination,” says Milone.
