Speciality: Divorce & Family Law

Chaim practices a different kind of divorce and family law focused on empowering his clients and being as cooperative as possible and only as adversarial as necessary to achieve the client’s goals. “Imagine,” he says, “if divorce, instead of being the destructive process that makes it impossible to co-parent your children for the next fifteen or twenty years, now becomes the beginning of a healing process, one in which you can each hear and be heard as so often you haven’t been able to for years before.”

Needing a divorce or family-law lawyer is particularly scary. It usually happens when a person’s basic relationship has deteriorated; when your closest confidante has become your most intractable adversary. People’s fear causes them to feel angry; their nerves are frayed; and they’re concerned about their future and the well-being of their children. It requires a particularly calming and resourceful lawyer to make the clients feel safe and protected, to help them understand what they need to know so that they can make the decisions that are right for themselves not only immediately but well into the future. Chaim authored “Divorce Without Destruction,” “The Perils of Prenups,” and “Father? What Father? Parental Alienation and its Effects on Children.”
