Everything Is Beautiful on the Undulating Curve of Shifting Expectations!

The curious thing about A Chorus Line is that, with each new review, you get more excited to see the show even though you’ve already seen it 34 times before. Yes, this is a new—and by most reports pretty enjoyable—production, but it’s still “dances 10, looks 3.” Just remember how you felt when you Netflixed season one of Battlestar Galactica, after all that crushing hype, then found yourself secretly pining for Dirk “Starbuck” Benedict. Or how you’re going to feel when you finally get around to reading Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. Why not download instead the Killers’ sophomore album, Sam’s Town, which can’t possibly be as bad as its reviews. You may not love it, but at this point, it’s guaranteed not to disappoint.
