After tousling some of Australia’s most glamorous heads of hair (Cate Blanchett, Kylie Minogue) for the past two decades, hairstylist Greg Ruggeri, with partner Craig Longhurst, tiptoed into town this summer to open the city’s most underhyped new salon. Ruggeri transplanted his entire home-slash-two-seat-salon from a Sydneyside flat to a two-floor walk-up in Chelsea. The paintings, couches, and arty vibe are the same here as they were Down Under, as is Ruggeri’s masterful way with layered cuts (from $150) and natural-looking color jobs (from $120).
