Artist Takashi Murakami has created a whole world based
on a combination of anime (Japanese animation) and poku (the pop culture of Japan). His work ranges from meticulously constructed statues of superheroes to a symbolic
representation of the atomic bomb consisting of hundreds of colorful
mushrooms. The gift shop at the New Museum of Contemporary Art is featuring a collection of books and clothing based on his "super flat" art. Clothing consists of some of his more cute offerings, like this "Dob" T-shirt ($30, pictured).
