Did you know the iPad will be in stores this weekend? If not, you definitely missed last night’s Modern Family, on which Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) explained to viewers that having an Apple product launch scheduled on one’s birthday is like “Steve Jobs and God getting together to say, ‘We love you, Phil!’” And so began his family’s twenty-minute quest to buy him one, which ended, of course, with cake and a product demo. We’re not dropping $500 on an iPad until Don Draper gets one, but if you happen to be the type susceptible to totally egregious placement, we’d advise you not to watch this highlight reel of the episode’s shilliest moments.
