The Beastie Boys have followed up the news of their return to the studio by officially announcing a spring 2011 release for their new album. Only it won’t be called Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1, as previously titled, but Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 (perhaps a nod to the album changing after Adam Yauch’s cancer scare originally delayed it?). The full statement reads: “ALTHOUGH WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT “HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART 1” WILL CONTINUE TO BE DELAYED INDEFINITELY, “HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PART 2” WILL BE RELEASED ON TIME AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED IN SPRING OF 2011.” But how will we understand the plot without having heard the first one?
